19th minute last night Stockdale almost cost us a goal as he tried a stupid fancy little chip over the IT players head towards VLP on the left
and it went horribly wrong giving the ball away to the IT player.
He should know better than that, it wasn't a mistake, it was plain cockiness.
For all the great stops he makes he does this sort of thing a little too often.

His distribution is fantastic.....can't think of even a PL keeper that hits the ball like him. Low, hard and accurate (too hard, once to Calde). Re his hand, he injured it warming up at Brentford (or before that i suppose).

Stockdale's distribution is a thing of beauty.

I remember comparing the two keepers during the Birmingham game.
I'd forgotten how woeful PIG's distribution was, or maybe it was just such a stark comparison to the master class from DS.

Did he used to do this last season? I honestly can't remember!? Certainly didn't seem as frequent. I think Ben Roberts deserves a lot of credit for the work he appears to have done with Stockdale

He did, but seems to have even more accuracy now. Watching him warm up is fascinating...the power and accuracy of his kicking from hand is remarkable.

On that note, is it true he got injured in the warm up last night? Not seen it on NSC but someone on Twitter said it...

Yes, I saw it happen. I'm in the north stand so I was watching him warm up. He crashed into the post when Ben fired a close range shot at him.

Thought he 'did' his thumb, as he kept holding and yanking at it shorty afterwards. He hurt his finger at Brentford in the warm-up.

He was definitely struggling with a sore hand at Brentford when warming up. Right thumb I think.

The only problem I have with him is when dribbles around an on rushing striker as I feel that he will lose the ball sometime other than that he has been a great improvement this season.
