But brought in Stephens, Ward, Ulloa and all the other signings last season. Amazing how people quickly forget all of last seasons signings, which Burke was involved in !!

*cough Wayne Bridge cough*
What else do you expect from the reactionary ****wits on here?

Well unfortunately for them barber got a special mention so they had to put those knives back away so now it's Burke even though there is nothing to suggest he was the reason for oscars departure

All a bit depressing and rather predictable really

Pretty sure Poyet had a big say for him too, but yes - Burke would have played a part in the negotiations.

No, no, no, don't you understand all good players are here in spite of Burke while the poor signings are all his fault. Come on now

Oscar specifically thanked Bloom and Barber, but not Burke...

Whilst I'm not 100% impressed, let's be fair on David Burke here.

No evidence that he deserves the sack, surely ?

The man who delighted us with Agustien, Obika, Rodriguez and Dobbie. Get rid

You pick the poor signings, which is incredibly myopic.

Besides, we have been told that our manager passes over names and ratifies things, doesn't he? Our scouts presumably pay a role.

When management teams come and go with great frequency, I quite like the idea of having someone constant with in depth knowledge of the side and players.

Besides, of the four you picked, both had a pedigree of getting promoted to the Premier League. Obika was a low risk, free scoring option and I don't know enough about D-Rod.

Haven't we always had someone in this sort of role in relative recent times? Since his arrival, we have made the playoffs twice and established ourselves as a Championship side.

An escape goat (sic - NSC c2007 can't remember who) springs to mind.

How about all signings made under Poyet are less Burkean, all signings after are more.

Wage structure is irrelevant! In most clubs the manager identifies players. The CEO then does the business but. If the player is out of price range then he communicates that to the manager.

It seems at Brighton, the manager identifies a TYPE of player. Burke then finds players and does the business. This is not how it should be.

It seems Gus and Oscar were both given players they didn't want and not players they did.

Well said.

Can we please block these **** from NSC. **** being those who make ridiculous complaints about staff and players when there is not much wrong. And anyone who questions Bloom. Anyone who complains about Bloom is an idiot!

Garcia should have brought in some spanish youngsters he knows - but didn't - and knew nothing of the english game - maybe Burke helped him?

Again, we can only speculate as again, the lid is screwed tight.

Somewhere there is an issue in our club - but we don't know where or why.
