Apart from the fact Dyche , Howe and Lampard were never even in the reckoning and Cooper was only paper talk, but other than that its spot on.

Vieira, took Nice one place higher in the table in his first season and one place worse in his second season than Favre, it was only in the curtailed 3rd season it went a bit wrong but they were still only 5 points off a place in Europe.

It may work or may not but I will give the man a chance.

Of course it may work out. But seeing as I don't have a time machine, I'm very happy to laugh at the current state of Palace.

He has his work cut out just trying to retain the 10 or so out of contract players he will want to keep. Let alone signing new blood. Then there is the traditional Zahaha wants to leave / Pal@rse place silly high price on his head / the SEGW throws toys out of pram farce to look forward to [emoji23]

I am presuming they won't want to retain too many of the out of contract players. He probably wants to bring in new players and start with his style / type of players.
Loads of work to be done in a short period of time.

We don’t know who was approached but are you seriously arguing Vieira was high up on the list? If he was you would have announced him after the last day of the season as he has been out of work since xmas and Roy had given your lot a fair bit of notice he was on his way.

It might work out it might not but let’s not pretend this was not a panic appointment

Whilst I think Vieira will be a disaster for Palace, they have done something right today.

Signing Olise from Reading for just £8 million is a bargain, cracking signing for them like Eze.

I always hoped that we might sign Olise.
Whenever I've seen him on telly he has looked absolute class.

£8m, if correct, does seem outstanding value.

Don't forget the inevitable follow-up when Zaha then signs a new deal, pricing himself even further out of the move north of the river that he so badly wants.

Lampard ruled himself out, so I suppose that's technically true ...

Olise for 8M is a solid buy agreed. Much like the Eze deal. They just beed 14 or so more top Championship players from London and surrounding areas now.

They haven’t completed the Reading boy’s signing yet have they? They have plenty of time! [emoji6]

I predict it will be a slow start but not necessarily a disaster. However for that to happen the owners will need to stick with him and that's why they may have a problem. BLoom has been very patient with potter, going through some bad results he stuck with him. If Palace are in the bottom 3 or 4 after 10 or 20 games will they stick with him. I doubt it.
That's the thing.

Parish might need a little patience.

If he is as trigger happy as he was with Frank DeFeat then this will only lead to another sacking and yet another old school firefighter being appointed in October.

Unbelievable deal I really hope it's not true. We should be all over that absolute no brainer deal.

That would be a good start for Palace if they get Olise, quality young player. Not sure if he is ready for the first team straight away as only very young, but if this is the type of signing they are gunning for then fair play to them.

Big Sam for Christmas. What a prospect.
