If we can keep everyone this summer and we will have a number of players back from loans and injury, it could be a really good season. Especially as FH would have learnt a lot from his first one. I'm glass half full!

Some on here suddenly think Palace are run brilliantly. They got lucky winning a cup. They have never got to 50 points in a PL season and will never qualify for Europe on league position.
We will continue to finish them in the league for most seasons and will win a cup one day.
Do you think they will top up their squad for Europe by selling their best two players, buying a couple of youngsters, and refusing to do business in January when the squad is completely shagged?

Personally I think TB has done his bit by sticking in £400m so it’s now up to us supporters to do our bit by remortgaging houses if we have them, take out payday loans if we don’t and put the money into buying a couple of players who look decent on Football Manager in the hope of winning the Rumbelows Cup next season.

Anyone who isn’t willing to do this has no right to call themselves a fan IMO.

Nigel Clough was bloody good on Championship Manager 96/97 reckon we’d get him quite cheaply.

Continue? How many times in say the last 15 years have Brighton finished above palace 3 or 4 ?

No not the Band of Brothers episode, this is a genuine concern.

We know our model, that is to develop youngsters and sell them on for profit. We have done that since we got to Premier League, we know Tony Bloom wont take the gamble and spend within our means.

But now after today, a living nightmare for most of us (there some of us on here who are not even thinking this effects us)

124 years of not winning a major trophy, something those c**** have now got hanging over us.

Are we going have to shit and bust next season ad beyond, to get over the line?

Remember next season the league will be tougher, Leeds will spend. Burnley I am not entirely sure they will, but can they afford another relegation?

Sunderland or Sheffield United to join them, but we know The Blades record in this league. But if Sunderland get promoted, with a ambitious young owner at the helm this league could get extremely tougher.

Do we change our model, or go shit and bust for a major trophy?!

Ipswich spent and didn’t help them.

I’ll be stunned if Leeds stay up.

Hmmm .... let me think ... we have a sustainable club using the current model. We haven't gone bust unlike Palace (screwing suppliers and charities in the process). Give me not going bust over some fluke FA Cup win. Pompey #twats also won the cup - look where they are. Idiot suggestion to go all in just to get a trophy.

Whatever happens in the next 2 games, this will be our season with the fewest number of premier league losses.
This is with a team of high potential kids and a few experienced older players,d a manager having his first taste of top flight/English football, and the highest number of days lost to injury of any club in the Premier league.

Hopefully we win the last 2 and get our second highest points tally.

Palace have pulled together a very good first teamof players in their peak.
With the aid of some favourable draws and a monumental lack of bollocks from VAR, they have won the cup.

This has put them at a slightly higher level than us, for now.
Parish has some big decisions to make, if he wants to stay at that level.

But they were stuck at a level below us for a while, waiting for the stars to align.
If they want to stay at their new level, they will have to start making money in the transfer market and reinvesting it wisely.

Yes we are at a crossroads.
Hopefully we will continue to be at that crossroads for a decent amount of time.
And one season the stars will align for us.

15 years since their last save spam.

They are not at a higher level than us, this success is built on ripping off their local community. Using the rules to their advantage and to hell with morality.

They are barely at a higher level than a snakes belly.

Congratulations to them though, it's been a hell of a wait. And all they had to do was sell their soul.

The only real Crossroads worth noting

For Brighton it will be business as usual whilst we have a single owner and not financed by American mega-billionaires or oil money.

Its an ethos and MO that allows us to compete in the same League with comparatively much bigger fish.

An MO that also permanently be in transition as we replace our strongest assets. If we're going to kick on we need to keep hold of Baleba and Mitoma as minimum I think.
