No not the Band of Brothers episode, this is a genuine concern.

We know our model, that is to develop youngsters and sell them on for profit. We have done that since we got to Premier League, we know Tony Bloom wont take the gamble and spend within our means.

But now after today, a living nightmare for most of us (there some of us on here who are not even thinking this effects us)

124 years of not winning a major trophy, something those c**** have now got hanging over us.

Are we going have to shit and bust next season ad beyond, to get over the line?

Remember next season the league will be tougher, Leeds will spend. Burnley I am not entirely sure they will, but can they afford another relegation?

Sunderland or Sheffield United to join them, but we know The Blades record in this league. But if Sunderland get promoted, with a ambitious young owner at the helm this league could get extremely tougher.

Do we change our model, or go shit and bust for a major trophy?!

Luck or no luck, they have done something we haven't!!!
And before today we’d done something they haven’t (played in Europe)

Our model earned us that.

Yes it did, but it didn't win us a major trophy did it?!

Europe caught us up, we tried to play the system without strengthening with what RDZ wanted.

Sold Mac Allister and Caicedo in the same summer and paid the price heavily for it.

so where does the trend stop?!

We need to continue as we are.

It is sensible. It is sustainable. We are making progress.

We will probably qualify for Europe again with this model. We always are in with a shout of a major trophy.

Palace spend more than we do, and they are not a better run club. They have more chance of getting into serious financial trouble than us. Relegation would be more of a disaster to them than us.

However they have done something today we've never done before by winning a major trophy. It sucks arse - we have every right to feel jealous, as it's our dream.

But, considering where we came from - we need to remain humble. We need to remember that we very recently nearly had no football club while we were in the basement division, and Palace were in the 2nd tier or above.

We might win a major trophy in the coming seasons, or we might never win one. But I think we do need to keep our identity as a sensible and sustainable football club, as it is the right thing to do - given our history and given the possible futures of football.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Palace have always been a bigger club than us and they are the first to a major trophy - but we need to not care and focus on ourselves. We are doing the right thing and we are doing better than we have ever done in our history.

Sorry, but I get so pissed off with harking on about our past.......that's where it should remain and look to the future ! I'm a supporter of 60 + years by the way .

We didn’t exactly pay the price for it did we. We finished 11th, that’s hardly a disastrous season. Disappointing maybe but we will have many more seasons like that.

TB will not risk the future of the club by throwing everything at winning something immediately (which isn’t guaranteed no matter how much money is spent).

Like the previous reply, the past stays in the past.

Feel like a lot clubs are catching us or doing things slightly different, the scum have found a manager in Glasner who won the Europa League with Frankfurt (luckily against Rangers on penalties may I add)

Now done something (somewhat luckily) through out the whole tournament and won it, is he a proven winner whatever way you look at it.

Are we close to winning a major trophy? Not really no, we have got to two semi finals and never got over the line.

RDZ tried to do things his own way and look how that ended up?!
