If the insanity is coming from the £40m price tag, it might be more palatable to speculate that the 'package' starts at around £28m and tops to £40m with the addition of Sima and a number of add-ons (appearances, goals, assists, league position & trophies etc).
The latest is that there is no player swap involved.

I do not feel easy with this. It’s an insane amount of money to spend on a teenager and puts a ridiculous amount of pressure on someone who is still a child. That being said, I’ve come to the point with recruitment that I trust the club so much, and know that if they are spending this much money on someone, they must be absolutely convinced they are are a world class talent. Like, this must be THE most convinced Tony has ever been about a player. There’s no other reason he’d spend so much on a teenager. So I trust him

You can relax. He's been legally an adult for seven days now.

They spent £30m on a 19 year old last summer and £25m on a 20 year old. And £23m on a teenager a couple of seasons ago who is now worth what ? Caicedo type valuations. . We nearly paid same for Vitor Reis in Jan. We don’t know what Kostoulas fee is - possibly £29m + add ons. Maybe more. It’s a centre forward so a bit of a premium but is it really that different from a Minteh, Baleba or a Gruda .

Yes, he is a big lad and has the physical attributes potential.
If he does end up here, he will need to toughen up, as has Griuda and FB and JE etc.
Looking at the YT reel, there are literally no challenges on him. I immediately thought of a host of PL 6’s battering him with a price tag of 40m.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

It's mad but Lamine Yamal is 17 and the highest valued player in the world at £340m.

So as long as this Greek lad is more than 1/10th as good as the Barcelona wonderkid, then we're getting value for money.

Who will take Sima off our hands? Who knows but hope they do Sim sima in their BIMMER.
We're trying.

Completely agree. Don’t think you’d deny that we’re comparing apples and oranges when we’re talking about the Greek league, however if a significant proportion of the fee is performance based, then all of a sudden it starts to look more reasonable. Nonetheless, I think if TB is potentially committing to *that* much money, then he must think this kid is and absolutely world class talent, which is my general point

In the history of football there's barely been one world class greek striker. And we are buying 2 incredibly expensive ones in the space of one summer lol.

Why is Greece suddenly a decent market ?!?

Greek talent is so few and far between that the best player of ALL time was a Leicester regular when they were crap, the 4rh best player of all time was a Sheffield utd regular! ...history is not on our side with these transfers.

What about Giákos Hinselwoodis? The most underrated Greek that has ever played for the Albion.
We signed him after spotting him emerging from The Souvlaki Taverna in Selsey High Street.

Another one you didn't rate initially, but you eventually saw the light.
Trust the algorithms and keep the faith Dwayno!

This is the point. The TB algorithm isn't a simple "This kid is mustard and we must buy him". It's: "this kid is a decent prospect, let's pay a couple of million for him and take a chance" (and so we buy Kozlowski) or this "this kid is the dog's bollocks, let's go large" (and so we put in a bid for Kostoulas).

He also must think the Greek market is undervalued (in the same way that he was fishing around in South America a couple of years ago) and he thinks it's worth grabbing a couple of Bubbles to have a look at how they'll fit in.
