Not true. Clubs misspending puts them in financial difficulties.

That might be as extreme as Portsmouth, or be less severe where we can't sign the players we want and get psr penalties.

If we spent £100m on this player as an extreme example, that has massive implications on our finances, as would restrict spending on other people, create a loss in the future, and so that's money that would likely be better spent elsewhere.

We should and can care about how the club is run, where money is spent and are entitled to have an opinion if someone is going value or not.

That said, I do broadly agree that in the wider context of fully trusting Bloom etc. it's his money and decision to make.
But that is all down to Bloom. If he thinks someone is worth it then that is good enough for me!

Normally I would agree with you and you are 100% correct based on past Greek players (and I am Greek).

The main reason we have this wave of talents all of a sudden, is that when our League hit rock bottom (where it still is), and with the financial situation in Greece 15-20 years ago, all of a sudden team had to rely on their youth. Because somehow offering shitty money to play in a shitty league wasn't attractive to foreign players :D
And the older "star" (again for Greek level) players had security, paycheck with minimal effort.

So the past years the teams paid more attention to their academies, and also many 13-15 year olds that their parents could afford it, they went to academies abroad.
Biggest example Pavlidis (Benfica now, but maybe not for long despite a 100M buy out clause) who went to Germany at 14 with 0 german knowledge.

So from this generation just in the 18-23 year old range there are many players that could make it or even have a bigger breakthrough in almost any League:
Karetsas, Kostoulas, Koulierakis, Konstantelias, Tzolis, Tzimas, Mouzakitis, Zafiris, Tzolakis, Mandas, Vagiannidis
Thanks... a proper reply unlike some of the Muppets on here.

I’ve seen a lot of stupid reasons to write a player off on here, but a Top 10 list from “sports mole” might be the stupidest.

You never fail to top yourself, fair play.
The greek poster on here said himself he agreed with my post and then proceeded to detail why they have a golden generation coming through. Watch and learn about how to reply with knowledge and an analytical edge.

Not just that, but I can name any number of players that come from nations without teams of "legendary players" that have produced talent.

Should we have not signed Mitoma because there haven't been many successful Japan players in the Premier League? Or Minteh, because he's from The Gambia?

Talent is talent. I don't need their country to produce hundreds of top players to know there's potentially gold in there.

Besides, so far as I can recall Greece have won more major honours than England in the last 50 years.
Mitoma was a 3m punt

Minteh was already playing in England.

These 2 players have played less than a full season at league 1 level. I'm not saying they won't work out but it is 2 massive gambles.

It doesn’t make your post any less stupid, for the reasons numerous other people have given.

Nice attempt though x

I don't think Weiffer has been a waste at all. He's been improving every game, he's versatile and has been a big reason as to why we're were picking up points later in the season.

The fact is, £25m isn't a lot of money in today's market. Like many of our signings, it's totally redundant judging them on one injury-hit season.
Liability same in a Holland shirt. Although we are all entitled to an opinion I think we could of got better for the money.
