Broadband advice needed

SKY use thier own equipment for ADSL. They use BT for fibre but are building out thier own Fibre network just as they have done with ADSL.

The reason BT are currently restricted is that the company was built using taxpayers money and thus would have been a monopoly had the government via OFCOM not made them share resources with smaller companies.

Sky have their own equipment in the exchange as do all cp's. They don't however have any external network as they rely solely on BT (thats why they ask if you have a BT line when ordering). Also they have decided against running there own cabling as it is to expensive

Exchange to Premises indeed! Apologies I thought you were talking about the main backhaul network.

Go with Utility Warehouse best for broadband according to the Which magazine let me know if you want more info......

Been with Virgin since it was still called NTL and had very few problems, main advantages too me are the speed (now getting 9GB downloads in two-three hours from decent servers such as Steam's) and especially the free uncapped connection.
