Without reading through pages, Potter got it wrong with his substitutions, Gross for Lallana was wrong as was MacAllister for March, we totally lost our shape.
Potter realised this bringing on Alazate for forward but it was all to late by then as WBA were on the front foot by then.
Thought we looked comfortable until the changes.

What structural things are wrong at the club!? The clubs structure looks stronger than it has ever been to me? I find that a really bizarre statement.

I was talking about the team/selection/performances not the club.

I always look at the protection from a DM or sitter. Every good team has a specialist or two, who just sits there mopping up threats.

I so wish that Potter would make us bloody hard to score against.

Welcome to my world.

Generally the best teams start with a solid defence.

At no stage did we have complete control of that game, opinion.

Christ, didn't realise it was just 1 home win in 2020. Wow.

To be fair there's much more too it than that. And pretty sure we have won more than 1 at home in 2020 Arsenal and Portsmouth off the top of my head. Before that covid happened, and we're only 3 home games into the season.

I think Potter overthought that game. We gave them too much respect.

Ironically (given how many defenders we have) we seem to have no idea how to defend a 1 nil lead. The players looked lost.
Should have gone for a second goal.

Lallana was class IMO.

Maupay is either awful or needs Connolly.
Stick Zeqiri and Welbeck up front for a game. Can't be any worse than it currently is...

I can't really comment because I only saw the last 30 minutes.

By all accounts Brighton according to the Commentators were very good in the first half. And West Brom were very good in the last 30 minutes and really chased the game which is what you would expect from a team trailing 1-0

So a genuine question - Was the performance really as bad as some are saying. Could it not just be that due to the more expansive style of play '' Fans Expectations '' have been raised to a level that this squad of players are not actually capable of achieving in terms of results given that other teams at this level have it in them to play well too ?

I am not saying that this is the case because when the next victory comes I think many might see things from a very different perspective.

Performance wise it was our worst of the season so far. We dominated and should have scored more in the 1st half - they looked very poor and were no threat to us at all. Missing chances and then scoring late on meant that half-time interrupted whatever momentum we had. The second half was inexplicably poor from us. Maybe becaase we had dominated without having had to play that well 1st half. The same pattern seemed to be taking place but the game started to drift - no pace or drive. Too many players got sloppy and slow and we just couldnt get get any momentum going. Bilic made changes and the wrestled the initiative. GP tried to react - I am pleased we have a manager that looks to change the pattern of the game, but this time it just didnt work and he may feel that some of the decisions were poor ones. We got worse and they saw an opportunity to build pressure and the equaliser felt inevitable.
I dont really get why some believe that it is all GPs fault - too many players simply drfited away.. Biss, Trossard, Maupay were poor. I also thought Lamptey was ineffective. taking march off was odd, Alzate and Gross made no impact . It was simply poor, thats all. People are disappointed becaise we have been so good in many ways this season and really should have won with a performance similar to llevels we have seen in most of the games. No real errors/basic mistakes, simply too many off-days, below par individual performances.
Don't understand the absolute vitriol/anger from some - disappointment at a chance missed, yes, but no more than that.

Why in a game like this did we not play Maupay, Tross AND Connolly? Even a buoyant Ali J....we could have blown them away first half. Why play White DM with only one up top?

Swindon, but used to be Manila
Far too many Pissy-Pants-Posters on here today. **** off, get a grip and then come back when you can support the team. The rest of us are getting fed up with your constant moaning.

A Lot of it is the same old posters....the ones you see posting on EVERY thread ( they seem to live on NSC and seem to be on 24/7 ), they post several posts per page so its no surprise most of them have 20K plus posts....the vast majority of those posts complete and utter rubbish.
we can all pick holes in the team and manager but none of us have had any experience like them..
No good will come out of personal digs at the manager or players...

I would hope Tony B might be asking questions

Atrocious.

I hate to say it but Potter feels like a manger who's losing the plot.
Shoehorning players into the wrong position when there's better sitting on the bench is always a bad sign.

Confidence has drained after some good early performances.

I like Potters football but I am getting concerned about the results.
Need a couple of wins to restore confidence.

I very much like what GP is trying to do but my worry is that he doesn't really know how to achieve it.

For example, given his performances for Leeds this past season, whilst we are somewhat disadvantaged in central defence, playing Ben White in midfield doesn't make much sense!
