What? We were a bit crap in the second half. I am sure it will improve. Does it need more than that? Or, because we were a bit crap should I sit here and post vitriolic abuse of players? Yeah, lets do that, that will help them improve. :ffsparr:

We played well for about 25 minutes of a 90+ minutes game, considering the opposition people are allowed to discuss what went wrong, subs, tactics, formation? Or are we only allowed to posted when everything is glossy?

Plus, "Pissy-Pants" is exactly correct for describing what is going on. Just calm down man, it was one bad HALF.

Yes why don’t we pay them on the back they only earn £60,000 odd thousand a week . Christ we better not upset them . Tosser

Haven’t read the probable like minded comments but fuming. We are so gutless and spineless. I’m not saying we have any right to beat WBA but Potter should be under a much bigger microscope than present. Starts the game with 4 centre backs? We had to keep our best player on the pitch for the whole game (even if it rules him out V Spurs as we’ve much better chance of getting 2 more points here than anything V Spurs). Keeps Maupay on the whole game and last week? There was one moment when the ref gave a throw in our way then changed his mind based on their protests. Potter looked pathetic. I just find us all a bit focused on footballing purity and good sportsmanship. These don’t help you when your 1-0 at home and under pressure. The players aren’t leaders and we were so passive in that second half appearing content that it’s ok to be outplayed for the whole half. It’s pathetic and inward looking. We won’t beat Spurs and Burnley will be licking their northern lips. Love the way we pass it under Potter but he just comes increasingly across as a personality hoover and unable to motivate or demand more from his players in certain.

My feelings exactly!

I did watch last season. I saw us play a much more attractive brand of football and I saw us stay up.

We now have a better squad and have played better than last season so far (2nd half tonight notwithstanding).

We have a disappointing number of points (compared to performance AND expectations) but it’s 6 games in FFS!

OK, fair enough. To me it just feels a continuation from last season though so far. Some bright performances without picking up many points, and some terrible performances. I guess I'm just fed up with it at the moment, yes I get thats generally the nature of being in the prem for clubs like us, but hardly ever winning over more than 3 seasons now has taken its toll.

West Brom managed to be 3-0 up against Chelsea at one point in a recent game. That's the only good point i can think of the 2nd half performance.

Tony’s plan for top 10.

My guess is that top 10 teams have character and occasionally win home games.

I’m almost always pro GP but poor from him tonight - subs, structure in the second half, defenders galloping up field in that last 30 as if we had to chase a goal.

Crap by Matty Ryan for the goal, committed the wrong way before the ball was struck.

One of the worst goalies in the league. In fact, who has a worse one and no De Gea doesn’t count.

We beat Newcastle a few games ago?

I’m gutted tonight as well. But let’s keep perspective. We have won games, Potter kept us up. And aside from Palace and tonight, we’ve come off the back of a very though run of fixtures.

I don’t think we’ll go down still. I do question the recruitment for our club (again) however. Welbeck is not the answer.

The big problem with that, is that for a couple of games we all hoped that was the standard and we were just unlucky. Now after 6 games, it looks more like that was the exception (and it was great and we had a lot go our way that day), but the general rule is more lackluster in attack, to slow of thought and often too slow in possession, devoid of ideas and with a totally soft under belly.

We've shown that more often than we've shown Newcastle levels.

It was obvious to just about everyone, that goal was coming tonight. Thats a big worry.

I like Potter a lot, thoroughly decent man, but is he just too nice?......... and whilst I may be wildly wrong, i get the impression he's a bit of a Yes man. accepting of circumstances/recruitment rather than kicking off as many managers might.

tonight, imho, it was same old until he started to change it when it fell apart. His substitutions and formation change affected the game massively, but to WBA advantage.

This. I also like him and have defended him but that's his worst 45 mins since he came to the club. At least against Man City at home he was saving players to keep us up. White as CDM? Baffling. Three poor subs too.

What sums it up for me is that apart from last 20mins thought WBA were the poorest PL side I have seen

What you are saying is not happening though is it? People are saying things like "Maupay should be nowhere near the team", "Gross should be shipped out" etc. It is over the top vitriolic abuse in a pants-pissing manner. Crap performances happen. If it becomes a trend it is bad, but after one crap game is not the time to change opinions and tear everything down. Liverpool lost to Watford last year, that was a crap performance, should they have sacked Klopp? Shipped out VVD? Of course not. They just went "that was crap" and carried on.

Again, I’ll ignore your childish use of pants-pissing as it pretty much makes a post redundant, your carefully picking and choosing what you’re being annoyed by, there’s plenty of reasonable points being discussed regarding players out of form, tactics, substitutions etc.

2nd half was very poor.

1st half we deserved to be ahead.

Does 45 (odd) minutes of poor performance really deserve some people’s reaction?

There are some strange sorts around here. Calm down people!

It would be alright if it was a one off but it isn’t. For all this ‘learning’ we’ve learnt nothing. Potter is an articulate shambles and Tony is being let down.

Why split dunk and duffy? both miles better with the other. To play an attacking brand of football where we still struggle to score and now cant defend?

I always look at the protection from a DM or sitter. Every good team has a specialist or two, who just sits there mopping up threats.

Marmite figure Dale Stephens was pretty good at it. It really needs to be someone who doesn’t charge forward or sell themselves.

We’re a perennial work in progress, who concedes goals against all comers, something isn’t right. Even this evening against fellow relegation fodder, we saw warning signs of unmarked WBA players taking pot shots 20 yards out.

I so wish that Potter would make us bloody hard to score against.

This. and this is the place to share our delight and our frustrations. I hardly think Pascal Gross will be reading it intently and wondering why some fans may question his quality or indeed Maupay and his form

Its a small section of passionate Albion fans getting a bit emotional because they love the club, it will make f**k all difference to any player or the club what we write here.
