The government has said it wants to get the immigration figures down to tens of thousands, to achieve this cuts would have to made outside the EU, and INSIDE the EU, that is why I mentioned the EU, because those figures would have to be used.

It seems to have been totally ignored that the immigration figures include the three years that foreign students spend here in our universities, paying full wack for their education, with no intention of actually remaining when their studies are done. Universities rely on this money to subsidise our own students and keep education costs down.

Manufacturing in the UK (well the West actually) has to be utterly high end these days - I was working at Ricardo Engineering (look it up) in Shoreham the other day, unbelievable engineering skills in design, fabrication and evaluation for the world's Automotive Industry. I'll admit they do also assemble stuff.

Not going to happen, if fabrication and assembly can be done cheaper elsewhere it will be and soon it will mostly be done robotically in any case.

Odd. I voted remain but feel a little sad but largely ambivalent now that we've hit the big red button. I guess this is what comes of being born and raised in a democracy. For my own part, I take the view that the majority view wins and we proceed on that basis whether I like it or not. Whether I approve or not is immaterial.
