Yes assembling bits and pieces made all over the world probably has been outsourced but the clever stuff (R&D), employing thousands of highly paid workers, has stayed in the UK.

That doesn't chime with your version of events though does it?

Thousands? Dyson employs around 2500 people in the UK. That's less than half of the total Dyson workforce.

James Dyson actually said that part of his reasoning for supporting Leave was so that his company could have better access to high level graduates and engineers from non EU countries. So it doesn't really matter if the clever jobs stay in the UK, his intention is to fill them with the best people he can find.

But overall that still doesn't help the manufacturing sector in the UK, which he is supposedly an advocate of.

So why did you use the figure when talking about the EU?

The government has said it wants to get the immigration figures down to tens of thousands, to achieve this cuts would have to made outside the EU, and INSIDE the EU, that is why I mentioned the EU, because those figures would have to be used.

Can't be this,as Mrs May has clearly stated,a Brexit for all,all four nations, all regions and a United Kingdon.

So we must all either get poorer together or richer together.

Good to see that you agree he employs thousand of people, and seeing as they are R&D they will be well paid jobs, I presume you would rather we had people assembling things a la China?

Manufacturing in the UK (well the West actually) has to be utterly high end these days - I was working at Ricardo Engineering (look it up) in Shoreham the other day, unbelievable engineering skills in design, fabrication and evaluation for the world's Automotive Industry. I'll admit they do also assemble stuff.

Can't disagree that skills are a problem, but that is something the UK Government should be addressing ...
