Could we win this? We really sound as though we could. Not confident that Flo is anything like the standard required here, Butters is doing well, but it depends on energy and fitness with him. McShane quiet, but doing what is needed. The two rottweilers are doing well (ElAbd and Lynch) - getting stuck in, they just have to be careful that they don't give something away with tiredness. Mayo scored, makes him a god again, he is getting up and down the pitch well. Chippy fairly quiet. Frutos and Carole and hammering the Southampton defence, running at them. Robinson set Mayo up, but is not quite "there". Trolley is getting stuck in, has the beating in the air of the defenders, needs to stay in the centre rather than try and take it all the way.

Would like to see Robinson off, Gatting on.

I guess it's possible. We got back into quickly which I think was very important it didn't give time for our heads to drop or them to get too much confidence.

They also have a lot of players missing and have lost 4 in a row so I guess if we can keep going at them and don't do anything stupid we might be able to sneak a win. Unlikely though. I'd be delighted with a point.

Flo - looks very poor
ElAbd - super
Butters-ok
McShane - ok
Lynch - good debut so far
Carpenter - quiet
Mayo - great goal but not heard much else
Frutos and Carole - most dangerous players
Trolley - good headers but very slow
Robinson - lots of speed... little else - typical

Did you do all that from the radio commentary?

Jason Dodd getting an interview now, just had presentation on the pitch. Reckons the Southampton fans were great :glare:

Says he will support Southampton when he stops playing!

Likes the 1-1, thought that we were getting annihilated after 15 minutes, but more open now. Keeps mentioning the Southampton supporters and how good they are! 16 fantastic years, privileged to play here, great players, management, etc. Going off him now.:glare:

Norman Gall impressed by the El Abd tackling. (SCR)

It seems like last ditch interventions. These can often end up as penalties if the Saints forwards are tricky enough.

Commentary is pretty good from Saint Radio.

Anyway, Sheff Wed are winning, Millwall are drawing. Not the results we want to see.

Sarfampton supporters want Walcott on, they are not playing well. No structure, no ideas, too negative.

In fact - Ormerod is on, Best is off.

No subs for us yet. I hope that Gatting gets a run out, can't see where Jarrett will get a look in today unless there is an injury. Do we ever sub keepers unless they are injured? Flo gives me the same feeling that David James does.

Adams did on FDM's debut - he took him at half-time and replaced him with Cartwright.

Southampton have come out with pressure by the sound of it. Dangerous period for us. Ormerod seems to have changed Southampton's approach. Burley "looks happier" according to the commentators.

We still have some good attacking momentum though - Frutos and Carole still pushing up.

Mayo and Frutos thumped Dyer.:clap2:

Dyer flattened, Mayo trying to be nice but Dyer wants a "special rub" from their physio.

i want Gatting to come on with 10 minutes left, and score the winner

hopefully he's good enough to take his form from reserve and youth teams into the first team
