‘It’s all very well doing it at Elland Road vs Stoke, but can he do it on a sunny Saturday afternoon at the Amex against Liverpool ?’
How far have we come?
Can he do against Bournemouth on a rainy day in Feb (assuming they are PL?)

My arrogant Leeds supporting friend has just told me that we
can't recall Ben White now. Something to do with games played for them.

Is this, as I suspect, utter BS, or is there a grain of truth in it?

Ta

Tell your friend that irrespective of the nonsense on the Leeds forum that if Brighton are relegated and Leeds are promoted:

White will either go to an established Premier League Club for more money that Leeds can afford or Brighton will keep him for his recent experience in the Championship.

It's highly unlikely that Brighton would sell to a club going the other way.

While you are there also remind them that:

1) Brighton DID know how good he was until Leeds stepped in.
2) Leeds wanted to buy him but Brighton turned them down.

The commentator on the WBA game the other day claimed he was our best defender. Not sure if it was his agent or if he was drunk. Excellent prospect but better than Dunk? How on earth can you make that call when he hasn't played at the top level?

Think you misheard ‘6th choice CB on loan to a small club’

It was Leeds equivalent to the Argus If I remember rightly. A more reliable source than anyone on NSC

Its irrelevant anyway, pretty sure we have no intention to recall him. Why hamper his development when he's having such a great season?

so you would put the argus over NSC?

It may have escaped your notice that we have just lost one of the potential centre halves (or cover for the position) for 6-8 weeks which will probably turn into 6-8 months based on other injuries have had.

Duffy is also not part of Potter's plans (wrongly IMO) which means if a decent offer is made we will be even further reduced.

A lot of clubs give a player half a season and then move him to another to get further perspective on development what better than to move him back to our club and play him.

if you need any further convincing just think what a kick in the nuts it will be for Leeds especially as one of their other loan players is being recalled.

Just to back up point 1) White was Player of the Season at Newport County last season.

The Yorkshire Post article.

It is understood a source said

No direct quote from either Leeds or Brighton

https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spo...owhere-leeds-united-fans-reassured-1-10105019

The Leeds narrative that "Ben White is going nowhere" is quite fascinating as if Leeds have somehow got us over a barrel.

For balance you would need to add to that article, Leeds wanted a purchase added to the loan agreement and Brighton told them where to go.

The reality is that Leeds have been utilised to increase the performance (and let's face it) value of a player (or as accountants call them) an asset.

It's a similar situation with Mooy, very shrewd bit of business by Huddersfield.

Loan expires on May 31st.

Back with us for any games in June ?

Lucky we have a spare place in the 25 man squad available.

So if the season gets extended
Ben white loan ends and he misses last few games ?? Class.

It would be really great to see Ben White back here finishing the season and not to play for Leeds again. Not sure of the legalities of that but it would be hilarious. I'd have thought his loan ends on 25/5 to coincide with the intended play off final. Big chance the season will have a number of games to go at that point - may not even have started again by then.

Surely we’ll agree with Leeds to extend the deal if the season continues beyond the end of his loan deal.
Maybe. Depends on the loan fee for the extension and whether we are still happy with the wages split ?
