People are quick to criticise him, but he played an absolute blinder today.

Those people are about 25% tops, particularly newcomers in the the Amex era who didn't witness his immediate and improving all the time contribution to the Gus team at Withdean.

For a tiny transfer fee, and probably modest wages, the youngster Barnes yet again proved his worth.

First half performance was really quite something, tailed off towards the end of the game but to be fair, he had to have been shattered. Always liked the guy but some of the little passes/flicks he pulled out today caught me completely off guard. Great player.

My thoughts exactly. Hopefully the delay in getting Ulloa's clearance has contributed to this, or maybe they just compliment each other really well.

He hit it first time without glancing at goal, if the keeper had guessed incorrectly as to which way it was going, it would have been a super goal. Fine margins and all that.
