Today was completley unacceptable.

From the players and Manager.

I'm not going to repeat what I've already said on another thread but Wilkins is over complicating the way we play.

What's wrong with playing 4 4 2 ?

He's brought in a striker and plays him on his own with our other striker 50 plus yards away.

El Abd was useless - not often I've said that about one of our own players but he was shit.

And playing Mayo, Chippy and Hammond as a 3 in Midfield ?

We need 3 players minimum in January but by then we could be bottom with more performances like that.

 Quite agree with all that. We were hopeless under McGhee but we've got worse. While there are obvious issues with lack of money and Falmer dragging on forever there were some very obvious things missing yesterday that would not take a billionairre investor to sort out. E.G.

1) Tactics. What is the insistance with playing 4-3-3 (or 4-5-1 I really coulldn't tell for most of the first half)? This formation and the way it plays nearly everyone out of position was my major gripe with McGhee. Yesterday as stated in the quote above Mayo was completly lost in the first half in midfield and Williams looked like he'd had an ASBO put on him that prevented any other person in stripes coming near him. What's wrong with Keeper, RB Wing, CB Lynch, CB Butters, LB Rents, RM HArt, CM Chippy, CM Hammond, LW Cox, F Williams, F Revell? And yet for a side that often had 7 back we defended absolutely poorly.

2) Leadership. We have young lads out there and they need examples not only from Wilkins but from the senior pros. Blackpool looked like they had a captain out on the park. We didn't. If we are to progress the youngsters then the senior pros have to take responsibility for leading games and mentoring the young players.

3) Confidence. Sorry Uncle Spielburg but this is a side with zero confidence who have forgotten what it is to win. The Crewe game was just as bad if not worse as yesterday.

4) Discipline - why do we keep getting red cards?

:censored: sake!!! Perhaps the only positive from yesterday is that we won't see Frutos again for another couple of games.

Probably spending in advance of two hours in one of the most deprived impoverished places on earth among the dregs of humanity.

My mate took his daughter to her first ever football match at Forest on Saturday (Forest lost 4-0). Forest got booed off at half-time and many fans left during the second-half. My mate vowed to stay there to the bitter end, but when Scunthorpe's fourth goal went in, even he got up and left. Atleast it only cost him £1 to take his daughter.

I'm sure that this would have happened up and down the country over the weekend.

Yeah I've heard a lot of people say about the Crewe game, and how it might have been different if Kerry hadn't been sent off blah blah.

Tripe. We were utter shite in that game, and we would have lost, irrespective of whether we had 11 or 21 players on the pitch.

MM was right to go, the time had come for change. But Wilkins is not the right choice, and this is where the Chairman must accept responsibility now. It was utterly utterly pathetic yesterday, and I'm worried how many of those type of performances it will take to make board/fans whoever realise that Dean Wilkins is not the for those job at this point in time.

It's right he works with the first team, but not to be in charge.

I suspected sacking McGhee was wrong but that's now water under the bridge. I said promoting Wilkins was wrong but am a loyal Albion fan and will support the club whoever is in charge. Yesterday was the worst I've seen for a long time because of tactics and lack of confidence. It seemed to get worse after half-time which seems to me to be down to a manager who cannot put fire in his player's bellies.

Disappointed and depressed? Yes but I'm certainly not joining any call for Wilkins head... I've seen already what happens when supporters influence the club's decision. What Dick Knight needs to think about is whetehr the money he's saved by promoting Wilkins will make up for the loss in ticket sales if this continues.
