I challenge anyone to come up with a country that is LESS racist than the UK and back it up with facts.

Few years ago, I was rather impressed with Lisbon, Portugal. We were a shopping centre/ eateries from all around the world place in a working class part of the City. We were really impressed that every nationality seemed to be eating in the full range of eateries on offer. Whilst here, you will find white British in every type of restaurant going, but Blacks tend to go to Black restaurants and Chineses, and other nationalities tend to stick to their own cuisines.

Above that I hear New Zealand isn't too bad (apart from the treatment of the Maori's). Sweden (until recently) and Denmark may equal and surpass us.

It's not always racist though. Profiling helps to target the right people. Came off a flight from Florida yesterday, arriving at the same time as a flight from Accra. Guess which flight got the full attention of HMC&E? And surely that is right, when you compare a bunch of tourists smuggling half price PSPs and IPODs into the country against an incoming flight from a country which is know to smuggle drugs using human mules?

Consider you are running a nightclub, and you know that drugs are being sold on the premises, and your evidence from arrests and video shows that it is young blacks that are selling them. You would not be racist for enforcing a selective door policy against the people that you believe may be selling drugs in your club, it's a prudent move to make.

Society isn't that racist, it's just that rags like the Mail and Express pick up on an inherent fear of "difference" and use it to sell their papers. The latest killing was of a young Turk by young blacks - I am reliably informed that at least 3 hacks on those rags have spontaneously combusted because they can't decide which angle to take.
