A good point.

In La Liga, Betis have drawn twice with Barca and beaten both Madrid teams once.

I also think their manager struggles with cup games. They've not faced a team anywhere near this level in the Conference so far.
The good thing is that none of the permetations that Brighton would need, have a game where it doesnt matter for the team we need a result from.

All of Forest, City and Villa will be pushing for the win they need to try and get CL (as will of course Chelsea), but if by a miracle of God, it does end up with us 8th and Chelsea 7th, they'll also be under huge incentive to win the Ucol to get the winners UEL place. Finishing 7th and losing final would be deemed a massive failure, winning a trophy and getting UEL may be deemed just about acceptable.

Agree in principle but flip side is we've probably got a better chance of keeping the whole squad together if we can earn them euro football next year
That right there is why I trust in TB. He has played the long game ever since taking over and I get the impression that finishing in the top 10 this season is a good result for him (it certainly is for me). I am reminded about all the calls for a straight progression into the PL when we were promoted from div 1. Thank goodness we didn't as I suspect we would have suffered the same fate as Luton.

Shouldn't have shit the bed against the worst bottom 3 in a while with the 2nd worse ever epl team in it.

0-0 ipswich
1-1 saints
2-2 leicester x 2

And the absolute collapse of a 2-2 wolves with their 2 after 90 mins

Ignoring our worse defeat ever in the prem to the northern cheats in red.

We should have had this settled ages ago and been on the beach.
Yeah, I know, if Arsenal had won all the games they should have, they would have won the league. In fact, why bother having the games at all? Just hand out the points at the start of the season. It's not like any teams suffer upsets

Our home form has cost us at the end of the day. Those draws against wolves leicester saints and Ipswich as well as that 2 goal capitulation at Leicester.
Both Leicester and Wolves were bad, I was at the Leicester game and was dumbfounded.

They didn't have a kick for 85 minutes, they were awful and wtf Igor was doing taking people on, on edge of our 18 yard box.

Leicester didn't fight back to earn a draw, we gift-wrapped it for them.

I can think of few more depressing and futile ways to spend a morning than thinking about the minority of matches this season where we dropped a bollock, and catastrophizing about them.

Why not instead think about how you f***ed up previous relationships.
Let down your mates.
Embarrassed your family.
Blew a job interview.
Got sick.
Got old.
And eventually died.

Because they are all the not so serious things in the serious part of life.

Albion is the most serious thing in the not so serious part of life!

I agree. Every team in the league could go through their results and moan that they would have got more points if only they hadn’t conceded a late goal or if only they hadn’t missed that penalty or got that red card. We’ve also won points we could easily have dropped. Wolves and Leicester were low points for me but we could easily have lost at Newcastle, and we were lucky to win at Bournemouth IMO. Swings and roundabouts.

And eventually died (without even getting a RIP thread on NSC)...

Our resilient home form has given us hope at the end of the day. Those unlikely comebacks v Spurs, Man City and injury time winners v Man United, Fulham, and West Ham changed our season. ;)

Exactly. The last kick of the game at Bournemouth (A) shattered against our cross bar. It it had gone in, it would have been a deserved point for em against 10 men. What about Fulham's season if Pedro's penalty in the 90+5 minute hadn't been given ? What would our season look like if we hadn't had a 100% penalty record ?
