all independent events and have absolutely no bearing on the Chelsea - Betis game. A complete nothing stat.
Not completely true, the Halo Effect comes into play whereby past achievement can lead to better than usual performance as we have seen with man u unfortunately in recent years in various cups. This could affect Betis positively.

Although I agree that Chelsea are likely to win in any case and they have their own Halo Effect going on anyway.

So to clarify:

Chelsea finish 7th and win the Conference league would mean 8th qualifies for Europe.

Is that right?
And Newcastle finish in top 5, we get at least 4 points from our last two games and/or Brentford drop points against Wolves …

Otherwise it’s in the bag

If we’re serious about Europe, and I mean potentially going deep and potentially winning something, we need more European know-how, need more experience of flights, hotels, recovery, preparation etc.

Conference while less prestigious is also something we could win.
I agree with you, but I would argue that given the relatively inexperienced signings of last season (don't forget some pundits were predicting a relegation battle) and the somewhat erratic, but trending upwards performances, one more season without extra pressure will pay massive dividends.

I think there will be more pressure to do well next season to qualify for Europe

This guy is usually pretty good. He has us in conf league as a 10% chance which sounds about right.

Chelsea to finish 7th and win conference league as a 20% shot on its own.

Just the small issue of also having to find 1 extra point than brentford in these last 2 games which actually looks the least likely option vs all the others for chelsea to finish 7th and win the cup
A win and a draw guarantees it.
If Brentford lose away at Vulvas, we only need a point to finish above Bentford.

I think this is actually do-able. Therefore I am bang up for tonight's game after a bit of a slump over the weekend.

I can see all Champ league chasing teams winning remaining games as they're against teams with nothing to play for. The big game is obviously Forest needing to beat Chelsea, they're not v good away from home and have a young inexperienced side so I think that's a strong possibility. I think the only doubt is whether Chelsea can win the final, and obviously the need for us to get a point at least against Liverpool tonight, but we can control that and as fans should all be well up for the game to cheer the boys on!!

Shouldn't have shit the bed against the worst bottom 3 in a while with the 2nd worse ever epl team in it.

0-0 ipswich
1-1 saints
2-2 leicester x 2

And the absolute collapse of a 2-2 wolves with their 2 after 90 mins

Ignoring our worse defeat ever in the prem to the northern cheats in red.

We should have had this settled ages ago and been on the beach.

The main stumbling block is how motivated Forest are.
They need Villa to not win at Old Trafford to sneak into UCL with a win.
If news comes through that Villa are winning, I can see the game drifting away from them.

We wouldn't be on the beach, we'd be working the permutations to get one of the Champions League spots.

Instead of wanting a Man City win tomorrow night, we'd be crossing our fingers for a Bournemouth win.

We should of got 0 points against Man United instead of 6.
We should of got 0 points against Arsenal instead of 2.
We should of got 0 points against Chelsea instead of 3.
We should of got 0 points against Newcastle instead of 4.
We should of got our customary 1 point against B'muff instead of 6.

We should of been in a relegation scrap.
We were lucky.

And if my old mum had had a cock she would of been my dad.
