I really think we have got involved in a very bad situation.

These people being killed for the sake of freedom is a tragedy.

Yeah much better when we fought for oil in Iraq.

I say leave Afghanistan today.

Withdraw immediately.

We are achieving nothing and just allowing our young men to be killed.
eight more yesterday.

What are we trying to do in Afghanistan?

Keep the peace? Not our problem - We should leave.

Stop the export of the Opium poppy? Destroy the fields. Make it so that nothing will ever grow there again and pay immediately a pension in perpetuity to the farmers.

Above all, pull back every single British soldier into the compound and get them out of that God forsaken hell hole immediately.

There is no need to have one more death of a British soldier in that country :nono:

Thousands of Russians died there before they gave up. I wonder why our government think we can do better.

and thousands of British troops in the 1840s

As Santayana said, "those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" - seems that the British government has some selective amnesia on this.

I can understand some of the thinking - there's a parent at my little boy's nursery who's an Afghan: the Taleban killed his parents, brother and uncle. He managed to get out and be awarded political asylum in the UK. It's very sad, there must be thousands of people like him - but there are also thousands in Burma, Zimbabwe, China and North Korea, should we be invading there too?

We just have no business in Afghanistan: simple as that

Vietnam, pointless except they are fighting the allies of Al Kyida.

Afghanistan is absolutely justified. 100% - Al Qaeda killed over 3,000 people on 9/11 (inc. one of NSC's own) & have been responsible for thousands of deaths before and after. They were based in Afghanistan. They were supported & protected by the Taleban, and it was (and still is) essential they're tackled. I fully support troops staying there

Iraq on the other hand....

Brighton factually.....
Blair is the C*nt, and people think maggie was a war monger.....I see no differance apart from maggie did what she wanted and Blair the C*nt ignored protests and marches and followed blindly behind Bush the C*nt.

R.I.P Brave boys and girls.
These politicians dont deserve your bravery.
