I can't see what all the fuss is about:wink:
If you park near any stadium with big crowds you get stuck for roughly an hour, even clubs with small crowds you can get the same prob like wycombe away.

The fuss as much as anything is about the Twats in the 4x4s, Range Rovers, Audis, Mercs, Rollers etc bullying there way through those that are courteous. Those that play the game and expect a delay wait patiently but far far longer than they need to because of these f***ing flash bastards who cut you up and give you a face off if you try to question their approach! It's all very intimidating as they seem to want to get out when THEY want at all costs, including abusing the stewards. I am ashamed to be around such inconsiderate people. They are the typical sort of people who because they have a bit of money behind them think they can do what they want when they want and if they can't get away with this approach will bully there way to get what they want.
I suffered this behaviour for the first 2 games but now use the train as it took the enjoyment out of my 1901 experience.

However In Bennett’s Field car park itself, the problem is exacerbated by examples of bad driving and selfish behaviour by a small minority of people using the car park. Rather than queue, these people insist on cutting through vacant car parking spaces and jumping the queue as near as possible to the exit. This creates a jam, and rather than speeding up the egress slows it down and causes unnecessary further delay for the majority of our supporters who are waiting in line. Sadly some of these drivers are the ones who have been routinely abusing and threatening stewards and police officers. This abuse was so bad on Tuesday evening we withdrew our staff for their own safety which did not help the situation, but we had no choice. Such abuse is totally unacceptable and we will be taking steps to deal with the perpetrators. We are also implementing measures to prevent people from jumping the queue at the exit. However, this will take time to organise and may require some construction works.

Your faithfully

As I said in another thread. The main problem is impatient motorists. It's the same old "Tin Can" mentality of "I'm in my car, no-one can touch me... I AM IMMORTAL".

Very much this. I shall take the train today as well.

All of this in loads.

i cant quite believe some of the comments against 1901 members on here, even saying they have "posh cars".....what is wrong with some of you idiots? i have not seen one post that says 1901 members deserve to be let out straight away or before anyone else, all that us Colditz Car Park users are asking is that we get a fair crack at the whip getting home just like everyone else who use other forms of transport,it doesnt seem unreasonable to let a few cars out at a time rather than get locked in for an hour, before the usual suspects crack into me and say get the train and stop moaning we use BF for the disabled parking and we are not 1901 members.......but that shouldnt matter anyway 1901 are still club supporters and their cash is just as important as anyone else, now if you cant realize that you need to get into the real world and lose the chip on your shoulder about someone who wishes to watch football in a different environment from you

The Prawn sarnie stand brigade will not know this as most of them will never have been to a football ground before, this is obvious as there posts are only concerned with attire and how long it takes to get out of the ground after matches oh and how shit the waiters are, they are an embarressment to the club with most leaving early every game. The sarnie stand should be ripped out and replaced to enable a few more real fans to come and watch a game of football for 90 minutes

Paying the £120 per month 1901 DD & £360 for BF parking, was never intended to be the golden ticket to get home early.
Moving 20,000 to and from the isolated venue is a longer experience for EVERYONE. Just have to get used to it like everyone else. A small price to pay for seeing Gus's Albion in the amazing stadium.

With Police about today, I wonder if the 'tough guys' abusing fellow BFers & stewards will suddenly become meek?

Can I just suggest that if you are sitting in a car and another tries to force their way in and are not very courteous about it, or the driver decides to remonstrate rudely with stewards and other users, get one of your passengers to get their phone and film them. It can be posted on here, possibly, or even sent to the club as evidence for them to take action.

I will be taking my camera today for that exact purpose! Range Rover drivers beware!!!

Getting out of the Disabled Parking Spaces at the ground was a nightmare, especially sitting in a wheelchair in the back of my adapted van. For this reason I haven't renewed my wheelchair season ticket for 2012/13. The first game we burnt the clutch out on my Fiat adapted van waiting nearly 2 hours to get out of the car-park, this cost £700 to have repaired. So that, the season ticket and the cost of the parking made it an expensive season. I'll go back to listening to the matches on BBC radio Sussex from the comfort of my home. Shame as the stadium is wonderful :(

Soryy to hear that, thats a real shame.

I can't remember seeing lots of threads this year bemoaning Bennetts Field, and this thread came to an end at the end of last August. I'm sure its still not perfect, but I would've thought things improved over the course of the season.

Did it improve at all ?

Sorry to hear this but there are other parking options than Bennett's Field for disabled attendees, even more so this season. Where none of them suitable or did you not realise?

My only experience of it was watching the queues of cars getting out from the comfort of the East Stand Brasserie. Still looked like hour plus queues to get out of there right up to the last game for some.

It did improve largely, with the exception of the last evening game, which was utter carnage.

The story of the chap above really is a great pity, but like anyone else, there is no COMPULSION to return straight to your car and suffer the battle to exit the car park. Everyone has the option of simply enjoying a coffe or a pint while they read the program, or watch the football scores, and then simply driving out of the empty car park, an hour after the game.
