Have you seen the ‘joke’ the supposed stand up comedian Andrew Lawrence put on X. I’m not going to post a link. People can find it if they really want to. Comedy clubs have started cancelling his shows - quite right IMO. And rather than delete his post, he’s double down and put a video on YouTube entitled ‘Scouse Meltdown’.

I don’t do stand up comedy. It’s not my thing. I know that some comedy is supposed to provoke and be controversial etc … but surely any normal person would know where to draw the line.
He has always been an unfunny twat.

Says stuff to get a reaction then blames the media for being too sensitive.

My first thoughts are with the victims, absolutely. No question.

But I get a sense we are going to see a very sad story unfold here, regarding the man who has been charged.

Yep. It’s so random otherwise.

I’m not inviting speculation nor making any attempts to myself but I am thinking WTF possessed a former Royal Marine, Father of three, businessman to do something like this?

I can’t imagine how difficult this must have been for police investigators to deal with.

I personally, based on nothing whatsoever, don’t get the sense that he drove into the city that day intending to commit that act.

I may well be wrong.
I would have thought he would have been charged with even more serious crimes if they thought that was his intention.

This is exactly what I think. It seems like a situation just spiralled out of control and somehow resulted up with him making a crazy decision that could have killed people.

Of course he didn't, he's a complete **** thinking he's entitled to drive down a closed road but anyone with a brain can see he panicked after his car was attacked. Not sure why my comment stating this was deleted the other night

I hope the two twats seen at the start of the incident trying to smash his car up are dealt with too. If they hadn't acted as they did I can't believe this would have developed as it did.

And the joke was rubbish, and obvious, and in bad taste but sweet baby Jesus I thought it was going to be much more obscene considering the reaction everywhere.
And the bloke telling the joke just seems like a crap comedian who could possibly be slightly mentally different.

And the initial reports came in as 27 injured, then the day before yesterday I read it was in the 50s and now there are almost 80??

It certainly didn't look like 80 were involved but I guess they must've been.

This relentlessly tough, unforgiving evil world full of war, death, depression, inequality and hopelessness?

I'll always defend comedians, but he's far removed from that. He's been a political activist since Covid.

The best "political" comedians (from all spectrums) are capable of nuance and taken the piece of out their politics, Simon Evans, Geoff Norcott, Stewart Lee and Mark Thomas to name a few.

This guy really really isn't and can only be defined as a comedy grifter.
