[Albion] 70 pies thrown away in Away Stand

Have a trolley on wheels, load them up when the away end empties, and wheel it around to the progamme kiosk. £2-00 each, they would all sell as fans walked down to the station.
Especially half the posters on NSC who complain that there are no pies left when they are on the concourse.

Have to say, this is a good idea. Less waste, few extra pennies for the club.

Until word gets around that a pie will only cost a quid on the way out and no-one buys a pie at full price before the game and at half time. With the number of fans staying behind at the end of a game those who are left an hour and a half later should be offered a pie for a quid if any are left over.

How many times was it posted on here that they were giving pies away at the end in the first season at The Amex? A fair few I remember.

Why not do what happened at Huddersfield away last season where everything was £1 when you left the ground, cheap as chips and the meat and tattie one was superb.

Because, in anticipation of low prices to get rid of stock, people will wait until the end to get their pie. Pie sales will fall at the next home game, more pies will be available at the end for cheap, more people will wait for the cheap pies and it turns into a vicious cycle.

Throwing them away makes more sense than lowering prices. Giving them to the homeless would be the best option though, IMHO.

Yeah but back then the pies tasted better :lolol: Were the Azure employees given a free pie if any were left over as an incentive to turn up for the next game ???

People kid themselves about the pies, at £3.90 they are shite value and no wonder they didn't sell in the Away end.

Hate to agree with the nutter that is Ernest, but.........correct.

I don't believe this will happen. Supermarkets and city centre sandwich bars often/always sell off food cheap at the end of the day and this (very theoretical) cycle you describe never happens.
