Enciso: I’m not injured

Julio Enriso has clarified the reports of the injury keeping him out of Brighton’s Premier League visit to Burnley.

Ahead of Albion’s trip to Turf Moor for a must-win-if-we’re-going-to-have-any-chance-at-all-of-pulling-off-a-miracle-and-qualifying-for-Europe-again game, Roberto De Zerbi named Julio Enciso amongst the nine first-team squad members missing through injury.

Enciso himself sought to play down these reports, clarifying his situation with Paraguayan media ABC Cardinal 730 AM:

“The things that are said out of place hurt me and even more because they are from my own compatriots. Playing here is not easy because of the high competition, I’m taking care of myself a lot and that’s why I feel sorry for what they say about me because it’s not true.”

He continued to express his desire to represent his country both in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris as well as the Copa America: “I am always available for the National Team. I want to be in the Copa América and then concentrate on the Olympic Games if the coach calls me.”

Since returning from a long-term injury suffered in August, Enciso has been playing his way back to full match fitness. From these reports, Albion fans should be able to look forward to seeing him in action during the run-in, which continues with Manchester City’s visit to the Amex.
