Not always. Good crosses are put into an area for a player to attack, a lot less effective if the player is already there.
Solly frequently delivers good crosses in the right area. The issue is the lack of decent forward.
That’s simply not the case with Solly.
He is going both ways this season and that was evident several times at Brentford. Would have agreed previousl, but he has clearly worked on his game, and as you say the people working with him value him.
Isn’t it also about the frequency of criticism from individuals and also scapegoating to some extent, which it certainly felt like at times during Solly’s career IMO?
I do accept its opinions.
Personally, I didn’t rate Maupay particularly and still don’t FWIW.
