I guess we are just splitting hairs now. If discerning consumers can tell the difference why is there the need to label any beer as craft ?

" Cans used to poison your drink with a metallic taste but now, due to a water-based...
Frankly I think the pair of you are talking bollocks. There are plenty of CAMRA types on this thread, not one of whom has attempted to deny that cask real ale can be craft beer too. It is almost as if you are having an argument with an imaginary friend. CAMRA focuses on the cask, because it is...
For anyone not up on the CAMRA versus Brewdog thing.
http://sabotagetimes.com/life/camra-brewdog-and-the-craft-beer-conspiracy/ - Both sides with there sleeves rolled up, fighting dirty.
Personally I look forward to the day that the Brewdog and Firkin opens in Brighton, as it will be something...
It wasn't truly meant as a put down. Where do you enjoy drinking in Brighton and why ?
I haven't been in the Mitre for years, but it is not difficult to understand why it is included. There are very few pubs in Brighton now that showcase a complete range of beers from one brewery. The landlady...
Is this the successor to the Michael Jackson Pocket guides ? I will have to look at acquiring a copy. I usually get the pocket wine guide as well, which is another excellent old school resource.

I would happily drink that and I can't imagine CAMRA being sniffy about this beer at all. Russian Imperial Stout is a style of beer that originated in London in the 18th Century. I would recommend a bottle of Harveys for comparison. I have one in at the moment marked best before end of 2015. It...
Agreed it is debatable. However when someone says they like a German/Czech style of lager, I assume that what they are referring to is Pilsner, rather than Dunkel, Rauchbier, Marzen or any of the other styles of German "lagered" beers that are less well known Internationally.
I agree with you on this Gwylan. CAMRA is not sniffy about quality beers and ciders at all, it is just that it exists to promote Real Ale it is in the name. A lot of what passes for Craft beer falls under this remit and there is no conflict at all. Foreign beer tours are actively promoted and...
They write articles about German and Czech beer. You don't tend to see the word lager used, as this is not a recognised beer style, rather a fermentation method. Most of what you like is probably Pilsner style beer.
Traditional beer styles in this country are being swamped by a wave of new...
So let me get this straight. The CAMRA good beer guide, written by social misfits, target audience social misfits, should do more to promote German/Czech lager, rather than the fantastic broad range of beers brewed in this country ?
Actually their members bi-monthly paper, regularly include...
