Always on the look out for interesting covers of songs by my favourite bands and this one is superb. Never mind the guitars but the camera work and scenery really enhances this instrumental acoustic version of Metallica's classic ' Fade To Black '
JJ may not be lauded as one of the most technical virtuoso players but who cares when you had that tone working with Dave's keyboards. And allegedly all original derived from a tear in the speaker of his bass cab!
Metallica and James Hetfield showing their love of Thin Lizzy again with a superb electric/acoustic cover of ' Borderline '. Forget forever labelling them as a thrash metal band with James' vocals they could do a country album....................and it would be better than St Anger! :)
Forget the later more commercial stuff here's the classic Level 42 track ' Love Games'. Their early stuff unfortunately gets a little over shadowed by the poppy Running in the Family era
Rather partial to this lot now and getting a lot of mainstream coverage. If ever you should not judge a book by it's cover. I saw them support Metallica at Twickenham back in 2019 and was expecting some doom laden dropped d death metal racket . I'm still not mad keen on the image but the music...
From the abomination that was the album St Anger comes this superb acoustic reworking of All Within My Hands accompanied by the symphony. If you thought Metallica were all thrash now you know different :)
Going back in time love this track from a great album. Totally bonkers lyrics and just ferocious. I'm just off to " eat some seeds as a pastime activity ". :)
Chop Suey by System of a Down.
Years on this is still a brilliantly odd ball classic. Ferocious yet melodic in equal measure and a simple but effective video.
Good call. Have always pretty much been a rock and metal fan but The Cranberries first two albums blew me away thanks to Dolores incredibly unique vocal style. Often imitated but never bettered. The Zombie track also ticked the crunching guitar riff box for me!

Cemetery Gates by Pantera. Superb power ballad with the incredible tone of much guitarist 'Dimebag' Darrell Abbott.
What's not to like? Bouncing conductors! Rob Trujillo sporting Vans with a suit! James Hetfield fist bumping the rocking out heavy metal xylophone players! And of course it's just a rock classic!
Further proof that there's more to Metallica than Enter Sandman and the early thrash. This clip all the more poignant as James hetfield went straight into rehab afterwards for his old alcohol problems.
