Been re-reading the Sharpe series during lockdown. Cornwell is such a good story teller.
Has anyone read Phillip Kerr's football books? They get variable reviews on goodreads.
As an Australian I need a water view (during the day) and a bit of air through the place when its hot.
Cold beer with some of it craft.
Plenty of room - don't mind it being mobbed (at times) as long as there are plenty of staff.
Decent quality pool tables and TVs for sport. Happy for there to...
I disagree with the few of you suggesting Ryan doesn't have much ability with his feet. I've watched him since his early days at Central Coast, and every game for Australia, he's always been superb with his feet, plays like an extra sweeper.
He must have been under strict instructions to hoof...
I don't get why some of you chaps qualify your praise of Mooy by saying: good when he has time and space; or if he had some pace he'd be a real star.
Mooy has as much pace as he needs.
Mooy is so strong on the ball and takes up such intelligent positions that his main talent is creating time...
Very disappointed in Mooy. He's my favourite player in the whole world but kicking the ball away at a free kick is so dumb. Then a tackle from behind like that (even if Grealish milked it a tad) is even dumber (when he's already on a card).
Onwards and upwards. I reckon he'll be desperate to...
Speaking of Arsenal fans, I don't know him personally, but I've heard Mat Ryan grew up an Arsenal fan.
Must be odd for him, playing against them, but I guess that happens to lots of pro players.
My inside info (which admittedly is about third hand, maybe even fourth) suggests that Mooy is loving life at BHA and would rip Potter's arm off to sign a permanent deal if he had the chance.
Likely to be playing against the footballing superpower of Taiwan tonight.
Mooy is not a flashy player - mostly. He's a very steady player - wins a lot of ball and starts a lot of attacks, usually through sideways balls but can play a cracker of a 40 metre ball forward when he sees it.
He's the sort of player that team mates love but fans often find invisible. Take a...
Predictable in that he set up the same problem and resolution to that problem multiple times. How many convenient fires were there?
As I said, I really liked the set up and atmos - if he'd shortened the book by about 150 pages I'd probably remember it a lot more fondly. In truth I wasn't...
Well FYI, Mooy was MOTM (had an absolute blinder and scored a cracker from outside the box) and Ryan made one world class save in a 3 - 0 win over Kuwait to get Oz's WCQ underway.
I honestly could not understand the fuss over POTE. Started well but was way too long, repetitive and VERY predictable. I am just amazed it is so popular.
Then again, people keep reading the crap that Dan Brown has been pumping out since The Da Vinci Code, so why should I be amazed?
Hopefully this will be the reason that their hyena-like fans will now be deserting them in droves.
I never have any respect for a United fan unless they come from Salford, and even then...very little. It's more sympathy than respect.
Everything David Bowie ever wrote, with the exception of The Laughing Gnome.
Also: Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...
But I bet someone's already said that.
