    [Politics] Donald Trump, US President

So Ukraine was wrong not to fight for Crimea in 2014 and is wrong now for carrying on fighting? Does anyone in the Trump camp have the balls to tell him that he’s making a fool of himself or is it another example of the Emporer’s clothes? …..I know the answer

Putin - but I can’t think of many others

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

I saw something on YouTube that said this incident was a car bomb in the underground car park of a shopping centre. It certainly seems to be something that can’t be dismissed as an “accident” as per Russia’s usual excuses.

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

The implication here (and in Eric’s post immediately prior to yours) is that maybe the US isn’t as important as it thinks it is. Donald will struggle to cope with being a major loser

[Albion] Have you ENJOYED this season?

I’ve not enjoyed this season as much as the last. It’s had its highlights (taking points off most of the teams above us) and lots of lowlights ( giving points away to most of the teams below us). On balance, any season where we take points off Chelsea, Spurs, Man City, Arsenal and Man U is one...

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

So the only thing of benefit here to Ukraine is that the proposed agreement says they could join the EU. But that’s not in Trump’s power to offer or decide on. The agreement therefore offers nothing to Ukraine and everything to the aggressor

Presumably from a very low base

    [Politics] Donald Trump, US President

Just seen a Trump interview with CBN on X (so no idea if fake or not) in which he says “Nobody has done more for Christianity and other religions than me”! In fairness, there’s a lot of people who shout out “Jesus Christ” whenever Trump opens his mouth.

Interesting story in there too about Chechnya - demonstrating Russia’s approach to overseeing its satellite states

    [Politics] Donald Trump, US President

And now he’s calling the head of the Federal Reserve a “loser” for not lowering interest rates. The usual childish playground insults

I’d imagine there are many people who hope that literally happens.

Yes, reports today of yet another leak of classified info by Hegseth. But Leavitt, the PR lady, says he’s doing a great job. Amateurs. I think MAGA relies on the support of the dumbest people in the US - sadly there’s a lot of them.

[Albion] Do You Struggle With Morality as a Football Fan?

For me it’s nothing to do with morality. I was as p1ssed off when losing any game in Div 4 as I was at losing at Brentford yesterday - if it’s in your blood…..

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

I didn’t realise that Ukraine had agreed to the ceasefire - probably the sensible thing to do at this time as they don’t want to be seen as the bad guys by Donald - even though any Russian offer of a ceasefire is likely to be a sham

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

Apparently (according to Russia) Ukraine has broken the Sunday ceasefire. But did they ever agree to it?

Yes this looks like the start of a campaign to discredit Mashutin - he’s become too popular and needs to be put in his place.

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

If I could write the script, Ukraine would sign a deal with US ( for short term expediency) and then Europe gets its military act together so that it puts Europe in a strong enough position to keep Russia at bay for the foreseeable future. That might take a while but when we get there, I hope at...

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

Apologies if I’ve missed any previous posts on a UN resolution a couple of days ago. It was about cooperation with the Council of Europe and apparently the US voted against it because the resolution included condemnation of Russian aggression in Ukraine. Also voting against (no surprises)...

Fantastic day, great memories - if only we had mobile phones then to better record the events of the day

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

Great to see again Ukraine’s reach and their ability to take the war into Russia. It’s important that Russian citizens know that the war isn’t something that’s happening hundreds of miles away and won’t affect them. Shuya is uncomfortably close to Moscow
