A long time ago, I wrote on here that it was going to be difficult to win the peace. With the benefit of hindsight, 'difficult' was the wrong adjective. 'Impossible' would have been a more suitable choice.
Russians just don't get that the reason that Nato exists, and the reason for Nato 'expansion', and the reason that so many 'unfriendly' countries want to join Nato, is Russia. How do you persuade these people that Nato is their own fault?
Take Sweden. It had been neutral for 200 years before it joined Nato. It took a brutal Russian invasion of Ukraine for them to join Nato. Even that didn't persuade Russia.
Khodorkovsky was right. The only thing to stop Russia is military strength.

I think the Russian people don't get it because they are told we are going to attack Russia and want to destroy it. Putin knows full well we are not going to do that but doesn't want it because it makes it harder for him to reclaim the Soviet/Russian empire.

I have no doubt that Trump deliberately used the little used legal term 'outcome determinative', to keep all options open. To be vague and ambiguous.
Trying to find a definition that is not impenetrable was not a rewarding experience.
Here's just one (of several) definitions:
'Outcome determinative means that had the results of DNA testing been presented at the trial of the subject inmate requesting DNA testing and been found relevant and admissible with respect to the felony offense for which the inmate is an eligible inmate and is requesting the DNA testing or for which the inmate is requesting the DNA testing under section 2953.82 of the Revised Code, no reasonable factfinder would have found the inmate guilty of that offense or, if the inmate was sentenced to death relative to that offense, would have found the inmate guilty of the aggravating circumstance or circumstances the inmate was found guilty of committing and that is or are the basis of that sentence of death.'

Kellogg should say: "Russia keeps saying it's a fundamental concern, but that's just BS. NATO has never threatened to invade Russia and never will - we'll do a memorandum on that". I guess Trump just won't let his team call out Russia for their bullshit - it's shocking.

TLDR: Russian propaganda reaches escape velocity.
It starts with 'Russians are eating more food and better quality food' - Russian central bank. (So what have they been eating until now then?)
But it ends with a series of arrests. As the economy declines, he sees power struggles as the cake becomes smaller. Or it might be something else....
(oh, and in the middle, Russia now likens western pharmaceutical companies to nazism).

The diaspora of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars across Russia would have been an asset to Russia, had it been a liberal democracy.
But as it isn't, and as Russia has invaded and brutalised Ukraine and Crimea, the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar residents in Russia put it at a considerable disadvantage....

Putin says, "Good questions", but just as he is about to answer, the bell goes, and the kids go for lunch. When they come back, there is time for some more questions. Another girl, Misha, puts her hand up and says, "I have four questions", Why did Russia invade Crimea? Why are we sending troops to The Ukraine? Why did the bell go 20 minutes early for lunch, and where is Sasha?
