Likewise, was that when Hateley scored a few in the pissing rain. 5-1 if I remember rightly and kept in for ages with their loud speaker blaring with there goals?. You've brought it all back fella.
That was also the day Britain got nuked.....

The BBC drama of the mid 80s 'Threads' where Sheffield gets nuclear obliterated. Shortly before the attack the football results are being read on the radio - the dreaded words that struck horror into the citizens - Portsmouth 5 Brighton 1.

A particularly bad day for any Brighton fans living in Sheffield....

Watched the 1-5 game from the Fratton end with the wooden terracing so at least i didn't get soaked .
If I remember rightly it was the next game after the Selhurst Park match where Gerry Ryan had his leg broken and career finished
Think we had a wip round on the train home .

Is this the game Terry Connor scored first half 0-1 half time, then 2nd half we got a hiding?

Brighton factually.....
I lived in student house in Manchester full of psychobilles, all of us were from down south.
we would take it turns to see our teams up north, Oxford, Brighton, Portsmouth and……
Maidstone (I think one game)

I became close with all my house mates, and was best man at my friends wedding, a Pompey fan.
he stayed at my flat in Camden the day they went to Wembley and won in 2008
I did not speak to him as he stumbled through the door at 2am, he was so drunk and happy he did not notice the pool balls hidden in his pillow or under his mattress.

I can’t hate them, to a southerner living up north, they were kin.
is that wrong ?

I also have them, Stockport and Southampton in a an each way patent for this season to go up.
£5k if they all do.
£1k if just Pompey and Stockport

Got a feeling it was Danny Wilson but could be wrong......and yes I was there.....and yes....it was bloody awful.
Only away game I have attended, thus far, where we have conceded 5 in one half. Only home game was v Bristol R where we were 1-5 down at HT. Happy days.

Will be promoted as champions if they beat Bolton on Saturday.
I for won hope they win, purely for selfish reasons, I have them at 9/1 and Stockport 4/1 in an e/w patent for the season thing.
If they both win nearly £700.

Not sure if I get e/w on Southampton as I am not sure if it is first 3 or 4 places for leagues !
£1000+ if they do get third or fourth counts.

So I for one hope they win.

If they go up, I wonder if they can use some of the prize money to pay St John's Ambulance & other creditors they f'd over the times the 2 times they massively oversepnt and then declared insolvency? Would be a nice gesture.

Until then I wish them nothing but lower league languishing. Also recall going away to Fratton early 2000s when we were kept in at the end which allowed the local oiks to lob bricks etc over the away end from the alleyway behind. Horrible team followed by knuckle dragging island mentaility morons. For balance I do know 1 nice Pompey fan, but he only turned to them when Wimbledon morphed in the Franchise FC.
