Maybe so, but I'm not having their win at the Amex as anything other than good fortune.
Play that game in the same way and we probably win it seven times out of 10 and draw another two.
It's not tactically astute to give your opponents all the possession, numerous chances and just hope they don't score enough of them.

Moyes and Wilder are not dinosaurs, Moyes has worked wonders at West Ham and is a massively underrated manager. Wilder did amazing job at Northampton before getting a bang average Sheffield United squad into the premier league utilising some very progressive tactics. Both are very, very good managers and reserve respect for what they have achieved in the game.
Oh I agree. No idea why RDZ didn’t address Milner playing so high and leaving Webster exposed for pretty much every goal.
But i’d take a dinosaur and winning the Europa Conference league over anything we’ve had in my lifetime!
Tactically astute was, alas, Dyche in Everton’s Amex win. Moyes did nothing of the sort, imho it was more kamikaze with too many Albion players upfield from the off, eg Estpupinan 80 yards from our goal with no cover.

I’ve just watched our first goal back again on MOTD. It was incredible. There isn’t a team in England that could have stopped it and only a few that could try and recreate it. Absolute dreamland.
To be fair he did start running on almost one leg he was so desperate to get back. He may have overegged it when going down, but he obviously had a knock.

Yes - on reflection I was possibly a little hasty. I really like Moyes, actually - albeit a lot of West Ham fans seem to think he IS a dinosaur!! He has also had an absolutely huge budget to play with, yet still employs the sort of tactics Roy loves at Palace.
As for Wilder, the whole “over-lapping centre backs” thing worked well for one season, but once everyone worked out how to play against them, he didn’t seem able to change. Too much “blood and thunder” for my liking!
