Caicedo was stunning. Ferguson, wow. An Evertonian (Matt Jones) being interviewed on R5live being set up to lay in to his club and instead praises the way Brighton have gone about our business. Nice one. Shame about the clean sheet but as long as you score more than the opposition…. Trossards going to have to roll his sleeves up.
Really great call that wasn't it?
Basically everything we've done over the last four years has been right whereas everything they've done has been wrong.

Or maybe RDZ is holding the boys back from scoring five, like with GP... :) Anyway, I guess this historical revisionism serves some kind of psychological purpose - all good.

Great win tonight - bit too many defensive mistakes that could have been punished against a stronger team, but other than that nothing to complain about. Fergie looking very solid, Caicedo running the midfield, March and Mitoma as brilliant as ever.

I'd give a fiver for Trossards thoughts... hopefully it just motivates him.
Just think RDZ is way superior to your boy! if we were 3 down at home to Arsenal under GP the game would be over but under RDZ we came right back into it! Just look at Chelsea’s current inability to score and their love of a draw! Rings a bell!

Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi: "I didn't like the first half but the game was difficult because Everton is always a good team. In the second half we played better. We played well.

"There were some problems in the first half. We have to improve. I am happy for the result for sure but I am honest. We have a lot of space to improve.

"The players were fantastic in the second half.

"I have to analyse the performance not only the result. 4-1 was a fantastic game but I have to be honest and clear with my players."

On 18-year-old Evan Ferguson: "He can become a great striker. He has a big potential - physical and technical. In our team my work is to help the young players to progress."

MAybe RDZ is protecting him cos TB's rinsed someone, and we now know Mitomas better . . . .

If this was the Eurovision, we’d definitely be the UK’s entry right now. And we’d win it. You just know we would.

Everton could by Maupay 3 times over for the money Mr Bloom spent on tonight's 4 goal scorers.

Everton: Pickford (4), Patterson (4), Coady (4), Tarkowski (4), Mykolenko (4), Iwobi (5), Gueye (4), Davies (4), McNeil (4), Calvert-Lewin (5), Gray (6).

Subs: Doucoure (5), Price (5), Coleman (5), Maupay (5), Simms (n/a)

Brighton: Sanchez (7), Veltman (6), Dunk (6), Colwill (6), Estupinan (6), Caicedo (7), Gross (7), March (7), Sarmiento (7), Mitoma (8), Ferguson (8).

Subs: Mac Allister (6), Enciso (6), Lamptey (5), Lallana (n/a), Moran (n/a)

(I thought Veltman should have been a 7 - he defended well 🤷‍♂️)

Loved that England’s premier GK was rated 4 while Sanchez, who most people are moaning at was rated a 7 - he made some cracking saves so well deserved.
Sky are shit aren't they

Ferguson . .1st full Debut, hits post, scores, an assist, holds his own against a seasoned bully, Veltman esque shithousery, he's 18 . . . If thats not a 9 and Mom . . .what is ?

A €911m spend in transfer fees by Everton over the last 10 years. More money than sense. A dream for agents and lazy players looking for a final bonanza.

Think Potter was holding us back to be honest! RDZ‘s sides are light years ahead of the dull possession game we endured with GP!
I really do feel that RDZ is looking like an upgrade on Potter. But let's be truthful, Potter had 100% laid the foundations for what we're seeing now and we owe him a huge debt of thanks for that.

Without the foundation that Potter built, RDZ does not get us playing this good, this early in his tenure. Fact.

The squad depth and (young) age of the players is so exciting.
I agree - I have been getting increasingly exited about us adding Buonanotte to the mix too - Fergie proved Matt Busby’s maxim several times over tonight - ‘if you’re good enough, you’re old enough’
Just hope this team stays together at least till the end of this season because we genuinely have a sniff of Europe…
Again, agree, snapping at the heals and can’t see us loosing any key players before the end of the season (apart from maybe Tross if he wants out)

TB’s business acumen and our scouting teams never fail to amaze me.

Waited until my annoyance was gone to post what an amazing performance that was. Agree with RDZ that we can play better over the whole match, but that spell in the second half was magic. Really happy for Ferguson (and us). Still early days but he looks very promising.

Still annoyed with the pen, but not the score line!
