Agree. RDZ is unlocking the attacking potential. Incredible that Chelsea gave us that much money for him. They must be sick ... absolutely sick with that decision. Ah well, you make your bed.
They 100% went for the wrong man

Shame about the pen - Colwill should’ve simply cleared then Sanchez mistake.
That aside, so many positives - Ferguson Mitoma Sarmiento Caicedo - Gross not missing a 1 on 1 is almost new territory for us……Wow. Just wow!

I can’t believe people are complaining- we just won convincingly away from home 4-1 and with a bunch of kids (we had on the pitch players aged 24,22,19, 24,20,21,19,18,18)
It is mental how players of that age can perform at that level.

We've also managed to rotate a few out meaning in theory, we can field a very strong side in the cup at the weekend

Let’s give a shout out to our new pace centre forward Pascal Groß. leaving defenders trailing in his wake as he sprints towards goal and lops England's number one!

If we are to conquer Europe, we’ve got to stop conceding sloppy goals. It takes a change of mentality, but we owe it to our players to stop thinking small and start believing.

Next stop…Normandy!

It does increasingly look as if the majority of Potter's spell in charge may ultimately be regarded as a three year training session which made the players incredibly comfortable in possession. De Zerbi's putting those skills to much more effective use. Not just based on the performances RDZ's getting but also some of the toothless displays Chelsea are mustering, which currently look very familiar.

Think Potter was holding us back to be honest! RDZ‘s sides are light years ahead of the dull possession game we endured with GP!
Or maybe RDZ is holding the boys back from scoring five, like with GP... :) Anyway, I guess this historical revisionism serves some kind of psychological purpose - all good.

Great win tonight - bit too many defensive mistakes that could have been punished against a stronger team, but other than that nothing to complain about. Fergie looking very solid, Caicedo running the midfield, March and Mitoma as brilliant as ever.

I'd give a fiver for Trossards thoughts... hopefully it just motivates him.

Caicedo was stunning. Ferguson, wow. An Evertonian (Matt Jones) being interviewed on R5live being set up to lay in to his club and instead praises the way Brighton have gone about our business. Nice one. Shame about the clean sheet but as long as you score more than the opposition…. Trossards going to have to roll his sleeves up.

Was annoyed about the clean sheet

But, shows how far we’ve come!

An outstanding performance from the lads

Made up for Ferguson not just for the goal but the confidence he showed in the overall performance

Great to see Solly score without the hype like it’s normal now!

"Great result, obviously, bouncing back from last week. It was probably the best we could ask for."

"We came in at half-time and knew could do better and knew we had them. We came and tried to give our best. Luckily the goals came through."

On his second goal in as many games after a consolation against Arsenal:

"It's a lot better when you can celebrate and not go pick the ball up. Buzzing with the result and getting another goal."

"I feel comfortable. Being in with lads every day, they push you. You have to keep working and working. It is good."

Everton: Pickford (4), Patterson (4), Coady (4), Tarkowski (4), Mykolenko (4), Iwobi (5), Gueye (4), Davies (4), McNeil (4), Calvert-Lewin (5), Gray (6).

Subs: Doucoure (5), Price (5), Coleman (5), Maupay (5), Simms (n/a)

Brighton: Sanchez (7), Veltman (6), Dunk (6), Colwill (6), Estupinan (6), Caicedo (7), Gross (7), March (7), Sarmiento (7), Mitoma (8), Ferguson (8).

Subs: Mac Allister (6), Enciso (6), Lamptey (5), Lallana (n/a), Moran (n/a)

(I thought Veltman should have been a 7 - he defended well 🤷‍♂️)

Loved that England’s premier GK was rated 4 while Sanchez, who most people are moaning at was rated a 7 - he made some cracking saves so well deserved.
