I thought it odd too, but saw some explanation in the media earlier. Contact between players at the tournament is very closely monitored, much more than I realised including GPS data.

The data is fed back to Public Health England who then advise. It's all dependent on the type of contact and duration.

So not a brain cell between the 3 of them then as they must have been read the riot act about that.

So, basically, Gilmour is shunned by his own team as Billy-No-Mates, with no one sitting next to him in the changing room.?!

Hmmm... something doesn't quite ring true here. Either England are choosing to be over cautious, Scotland are choosing to be over reckless or the Public Health official making this decision is, maybe, of Scottish heritage!?

Have seen the indoor table tennis game between him/Robertson/McGinn that evening, which apparently Robertson quickly deleted from his social media account when the positive test surfaced!

So Jimmy Crankie happy to bar Jocks from going to Manchester but seemingly happy for their national team to put themselves and the Croatians at risk. Of course, no one could possibly have been in extended close proximity to Gilmour and he was the only one who forgot the social distancing rule.

The whole thing stinks!

I heard on the radio this morning that there are reports of the three of them engageing in a 25min conversation in the tunnel.

I suppose if they've just come off the pitch they might not have been masked or thinking about social distancing and standing indoors in close proximity talking to each other for 25 minutes is clearly more of a transmission risk than running around outside and only being close to each other in very short bursts, and could explain why those two have to self isolate but the others don't.

Shame one of them didn't call Tyrone over to listen to Billy's long anecdote about life in London

According to the NHS website we should :
“Self isolate immediately if........you are told you have been in contact with someone who tested positive “

So that should rule out the Scotland squad and the outfield English players who played against him.
One rule for them ...eh?

Well aside from the fact NHS is advice for UK residents yes of course there is a difference. This is an elite sporting event held once every how many years not Jill and Bob having a bbq with friends and family.

If they followed NHS advice to the letter we wouldn’t be having this Euros at all.

Oh Please - There were about 30 players on that same field of play that night 15 from each side overall - But '' the English are Over cautious but the Scottish are Reckless ''

The rest of the England players who played in that match are all still training together in the same way that the rest of the Scottish Squad are

Doesn't Gareth have a little after game chat, like well done or that was shit wasn't it............maybe that's why they stayed away!

25 minute chat in the tunnel. Didn't they want to go and have a shower or something?

I see the joke on the end, but I'm not sure if it was the set up to the joke, or if the question at the start is genuine. Just in case... That chat would be in the controlled environment of their socially distanced changing room (that sounds wrong for some reason, 'locker room' sounds too american, you know what I mean), with everyone wearing masks - or at least I assume that's the protocol they are supposed to follow indoors.

Nothing to do with Scotland administration though. The team are based in Middlesbrough and come under Public Health for England.

Fair point but unless PHE are in the hotel monitoring the whole time, they must be relying upon the honesty of the team/management/Scottish FA- the table tennis video is quite damning.

So strange.

It really isn't.

All we are required to do is suspend reality, sit back and enjoy watching top level sport.

It really is that simple. If you want it to be that is.

Perhaps I missed an update somewhere but is there any reason given for why Steve Clarke doesn't need to isolate given he is pictured in direct contact with Billy Gilmour during the match?

Seems like the English FA are trying to do the right thing but the Scottish FA are doing an ostrich impression.

Because he wasn't in direct contact for 30 mins in an inside enclosed space after the game.

As I said above, this really isn't anything to with the Scottish FA or the Scottish Government.

The Scotland team are based in England and come under English rules.

The whole Scotland squad shared a bus, then a dressing room with Gilmour. The manager embraced him. And yet - Gilmour apart - they are all available to face Croatia tonight.

This was just explained on radio 4. As well as it could be anyway...
The Scotland team form a bubble.
The England team form a bubble.
Playing football outside on the pitch doesn't breach the bubble rule.
The chat in the tunnel between the 3 players for over 15 minutes after the game breached the bubble.
As such, mount and chilwell have to isolate from the rest of the England bubble as they could infect it...
