Everton captain Seamus Coleman to Sky Sports: "It's a point away from home. Obviously we wanted to win the game but Brighton are a very good side. Our disappointment was probably not picking up all three points against Crystal Palace. This is probably a good point away from home”

You turning into my stalker?

This is tedious in my opinion

Why am I stalking you for seeing post and quoting David? Chill mate you’re moaning moaning moaning - If we were tedious what did you think of 8th placed Everton?

Unbelievable that having seen so many fans bang on about game management all season that when Potter does decide to settle for a valuable point his critics get all arsey about it it. If CH was still manager they would have taken that as a well earned point

Now that is a FACT!

Ha ha couldn’t agree more. Decent point and a clean sheet. :albion2:

This is thing so many don’t get when they predict we won’t get hardly any points in the run-in is that we are difficult to beat. The teams that have done have either had some massive strokes of luck (West Brom, Palace), or had to work very hard to secure victory (ManUtd, City, Leicester).

[emoji106] we are draw specialists. We’ll probably happily draw our way to safety.

A most forgettable match. Everyone seems jolly happy with a point. Especially our relegation rivals. And who are we to expect more. Little old Brighton versus mighty Everton. Even without their top striker it’s magnificent not to receive an absolute thrashing. Ring the church bells, we drew nil nil with the toffee men!

Staying up is all that matters at this point, we very seldom play ugly, but from my perspective that team tonight were determined not to lose. What’s to criticise about that?

We are a point closer to safety and barring an absolute miracle from one or more of the bottom three we are edging towards another season at the top table. We are not out of the mix though and that was a decent, if not thrilling performance imo

Joking aside, our GD and no. if draws is a big indicator of how close we are to being a much high up the table.

My Grandad always said look at the GD more than the points to see who is playing well, and who is punching above or below their weight if you’re trying to judge a run-in.

Nothing. You’re right staying up is all that matters. However from a league point of view that’s zero progression after two Potter years.

I know GP has been heavily backed by TB but if we’re still in the same situation next Xmas then the mood music is likely to change.

I don't think he touched the ball.

Jahanbackhsh chest passed the ball once and pressured the ball a couple of times in his three minutes on the field which is shocking... Any other forward would have had a hattrick in those three minutes!!!! What is shocking even more is that he did not get a hattrick in the last game either even though he had like five or six minutes to play!!!!

But seriously, I don't care who Potter subs in, but its got to be done earlier that 87th minute.

Absolutely. It we even only converted half our draws to wins we’d be around top 10... all the signs are there, if folk look for them.

Hanging my hat on next season being the progression that we all hope for. We have survived two seasons being defensive whipping boys, one season where a covid break probably helped us and this season underachieving. Time will tell

It feels like we’re a real Prem side now though. We can go to Old Trafford, to Anfield, anywhere and give any team a game.

That’s the difference GP and the club has made. I think he’s still learning as are our young team. Feels like we’re moving in the right direction.

Totally agree about GD. I looked back at previous seasons a while back and GD with 10 games to go pretty much tells you who's going down. Obviously there can be exceptions but it's a pretty reliable guide.

I do like Potter, but i will never, ever understand the logic behind some of his substitutions. Ali J and Burn on when we need a goal? Baffling.

Burn I can maybe understand, Moder tiring, recognised defender on and also an outlet for a long ball / giving Everton someone else to worry about at a corner other than dunk.

AJ absolutely no idea!
