[Football] Kane cheats again

There is no other team in the Prem that con the ref as Villa do - Grealish has made a career out of it and taught his teammates well - so it is funny to see them on the receiving end for once.

I thought that watching the game, it was the Cheats Cup Final, players screaming and rolling around in faux agony. Spuds acting was better.

Kane gets away with the media not talking about it because they love an England player (without off field baggage to target).

Leeds - but not the dirty bit
Harry Kane is one reason I will not support England. That and other horrible little cheats and prima donnas we come up against every week in the league. I know some of our players are far from blameless, but the national team seems stuffed full of his ilk.

I will always support England, it is not conditional (same as for Brighton).

I may however not always like some of the individuals who play for (or manage) England.

Connolly dives significantly more than kane.

The difference is who they play for. Fans always see the dives made by opposition teams or players they don't like but are blind to any but the most obvious from their own players.

Was it Connolly’s penalty that got overturned in the Liverpool home game this year?

That bloody got overturned.

They make it up as they go along.
And people were amazed it was overturned because there was contact. It should have been overturned, but so should so many more. I reckon more than half of this year's penalties, shouldn't be penalties. The definition of "trip" should never have been extended to include "touch a man who chooses to lie down".

Very next level bit of cheating that.
Knows cross will get blocked so let's it roll and jumps in the way of the block. Then goes down screaming like his ankles been broken. At least this move can only endanger himself.

To be fair to Kane, Cash did actually take his legs out from behind... at this point Kane is slowing up after realising the ball's going out. He's a bit off-balance but will probably stay standing, until CLONK - Cash flies in at full speed.

(for those who haven't seen the video, Cash is nowhere near the ball at any point - that's about as close as he gets to it in the incident)

It's a stupid late tackle in the situation, and a foul every day. In the box it's a penalty.

I think the point is consistency. Connolly's is overturned, Vardy's isn't on the same weekend. Both near identical. Referees don't consistently make the same decisions game after game. One week intent matters, the next it doesn't; One week a pull in the area is a penalty, the next it isn't; One week a Kane "back in" is a pen, the next week it isn't... Ha, just kidding on that last one. That's ALWAYS a pen, whether it's inside or outside the box.

I recall a couple of pens recently (like the one we conceded against Southampton) that were outside the box and wouldn't have been given on another day week. Our goal against Spurs away was a clear foul from March which would have been given any other day. The penalty Welbeck won, could have easily been a yellow for a dive one week and a pen the next. The list is endless.

My biggest problem is that when things go to VAR, I have literally no idea anymore which way the decision will go, or even what they're looking for.

Can't blame Kane for doing what he does even if it doesn't sit well with us fans, the rules are perfectly set up for him to get penalties because of bungling rule makers.

He earns his team countless chances to score goals based on the rules as they stand, clever player really, I'd turn my hate on the rule makers, not him.

Some players do play fair and don't go down in the area when slyly nudged or tripped, do they get just reward? Of course not, hence Kane does what he has to do.

This. He made no attempt to go for the ball and threw himself in front of the defender like that suffragette and the horse at that grand national. The fact he got away with it is because the VAR rubric is shit. That's down to the referees. And I'm not inclined to repeat myself again so I'll leave it there.

If Kane played for us we'd lionise him.

It is clear that HK - like many others - ‘bought’ that penalty and was intent on doing so - similar to when he threw Adam L over his back to earn one earlier this season. He definitely cheats more than most. Yes Cash was an idiot for going in like that but Kane purposely ran into his legs.

Contrast that with the brilliant Phil Foden - I know he was an eejit while on England duty - but twice recently he could have dived for a pen but didn’t because he wants to play the game in the right way. The system is flawed when the cheat is rewarded and the honest man not - sounds a bit like real life sometimes!

No one forces someone to lack integrity. He is a terrible example to younger players and profits by conning people. What a nasty little person he is. Remember the way he cheated to get spurs a penalty against us.

Integrity walks out one door when Jose's carried in through another.

Connolly is a diver, age is irrelevant here. Problem he has is he's not very good at it. He goes to ground at the wrong time and does not get the right 'contact' on his opponent first. Until the rules are changed this will go on and we need to get with the programme. It's another part of his 'education' from actually playing the game rather than the cameo's he's currently getting.

Am I the only one who thinks it looked like Kane was attempting to semi-Gross-turn the ball back into play, completely missed the ball and was then wiped out by the player?

Yep he's a diver. I don't like it and I am embarrassed by the ease in which he goes to ground.

But...
He is no worse at it than the vast majority of his EPL peers. I can't blame him for trying it as it is commonplace at the level he is playing at.
The reason he doesn't get the same level of results, is because he is a lower ranking forward for Brighton and Hove Albion, not because he isn't good at it..
Referees are far more comfortable ignoring the appeals for low rated players than they are for the more famous names at bigger clubs. VAR is not changing that.

Connolly could do with a season in the championship, where contact needs to be a good deal more agricultural to get rewards.

Whether we like it or not this is the game in 2021. I do think he is worse at it although I agree with you that 'Big' teams get more decisions. I do think Connolly has suffered from not having an education at a lower level like other promising youngsters learning the tricks of the trade and improving his game management and most importantly his goal ratio. He does have ability but he is in danger of falling short of PL standard and needs to fill in the gaps in his game by playing at a lower level regularly.

The thing that pissed me off about this(and Kane) is that the ball has gone, Kane knows this and turns towards the defender putting himself in a position get caught. He gets a tap on the back of the leg and goes down holding his shin. I've lost a lot of respect for Kane since the Lallana(and many others) incident, but he plays this game well. I'm equally not sure what the defender was doing, again the ball is long gone and he still puts in the challenge - duh!!

He didn't just 'slow up', he intentionally moved towards Cash.

These images have been cropped so the pitch/screen is in same position. Note the movement of the ball, and the players in relation.

Here's Cash sliding to block the ball (nowhere near Kane)....

Here's Kane having moved towards the already-sliding Cash (nowhere near the ball)

Kane is a cheat.

Don't forget, when Grealish is sober...er I mean fit, we have TWO convicted criminals in the squad as well.

Great role models

It looks like it's gradually being noticed more what a cheat Kane is. It even got mentioned by one of the 606 pundits the other day.
