Ridiculous isn’t it ? Absolutely amazing stuff. The 15m by mid Feb is definitely on track and at this rate we’ll have most of the adult population having had a first jab by the end of April (although first jab rates will slow a bit presumably as second jabs start taking up a greater % of the daily volume).

With an estimated 600,000 vaccinated across the UK on Saturday, are we on course once Sunday’s data is released, for 10m who’d had the first jab by the end of January?
21,088 positive tests reported - down 32.5% on previous 7 day period
3,039 hospitalisations reported - down 19.6%
587 deaths reported - down 5.3%
Just under 600,000 first jabs reported - by a distance the highest number so far. Almost 9 million now done and the current rate will push us through the 15m by middle of Feb.
All positive stuff.

Bloody hell that’s a massive rise on last Sunday’s (Saturdays) vaccination number I think last Saturdays number was circa 200k, it’s either a data issue with backdated vaccinations or a stupendous rise. Either way another 600k

Yes you are correct, misread the days. It’s good to see the numbers keep going up though, hopefully it will continue rising, faster it rises, faster we can stop living under house arrest!

Maybe though, more vaccination places opening up, the Brighton centre has just started vaccinations there.
Call it 9.4 million done.
54m adults in the UK, leaving 44.6m. Now vaccinating 600,000 a day (the super sites such as the Brighton Centre vaccinating 3,000 a day only opened last Monday, with more to follow).
- 15m would’ve had their first jab by 10 Feb.
- Every adult would’ve had their first jab by mid April, but sooner than that due to the number of anti-vaxers/pandemic deniers.
Hopefully within a few weeks we’re giving second does to everyone over 65, possibly as a priority ahead of first jabs for young adults?
I’m not sure it’s 600k per day.....the numbers reported last week were higher on Sat and Sun before dropping back at the start of the week again so I think the reporting may not be ‘daily’ in many cases. More useful to look at the daily average for the week (let’s say 400k now for the sake of argument, although this will still go up I suspect as more centres open). We’ll also see a greater number of second jabs make up the daily total as we go through the next few weeks (within the 12 week window) so that will slow the number of first jabs being administered so it might be a bit longer than you suggest.
Getting the 15m most vulnerable done by mid Feb will be an enormous achievement and will have a colossal effect on deaths and hospitalisations.
My bet is for 15m first jabs by 10 Feb, data to be released on 11 Feb. For valid reasons already discussed in detail, it won’t be hyped by the NHS and government until we get there.
The 33 super centres which opened last Monday have added 100,000 jabs per day on their own.

According to ZOE app England's recently worst hit areas have now returned to levels seen in mid november as national drop in new cases continues (now 25,000 daily), mirroring drop in Gov confirmed cases. Still 450k cases in the community. Thanks for logging.

Bit later I reckon, don’t think we’ll be over 500k per day average from today - by 15th though so the mid Feb target gets reached.
If I'm remembering the timelines correctly doesn't this push us back down to where we were at about the time the Kent variant first started to appear in serious numbers (pretty sure it came out during the November lockdown), which shows that we've done a pretty damned effective job through lockdown / vaccination to effectively mitigate the effects of that to a greater or lesser extent?
