I see the EPPG (the largest multinational grouping of MEPs in the EU parliament) are now pushing to stop passporting and equivalence being negotiated with the UK Financial Services sector in order to get as much of that market as possible into the EU.

EU needs masterplan to move financial business away from London

"One of the key strategic priorities in the years to come has to be strengthening the Capital Markets Union and moving the strategically important clearing business to the EU”, said EPP Group Spokesman in the European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee, Markus Ferber MEP, ahead of this week’s presentation by the European Commission of a plan to strengthen Europe’s economic and financial sovereignty.

"In light of Brexit, having a robust and powerful financial infrastructure is more important than ever. When it comes to the financing of the European economy, we must not be completely dependent on third countries”, Ferber stressed.

Strengthen Europe’s economic and financial sovereignty ? Bloody cheek :annoyed:

It's almost as if nobody has told them that they would fall apart as soon as we left

Poor sods, they don't realise its all coming crashing down in 6 months !

Bloody Worthing!

I can quite easily (if painfully) envisage the following scenario.

That Chancer Johnson will do everything he can to turn us into Singapore Mark 2. In so doing he'll push the envelope and test the EU's tolerance of de-regulation to the point where trade sanctions are applied under the level playing field provisions. It's a bit like being in a country run by a bunch of cowboys.

The reason behind our old friend Kwasi

"The British are among the worst idlers in the world. We work among the lowest hours, we retire early and our productivity is poor. Whereas Indian children aspire to be doctors or businessmen, the British are more interested in football and pop music."

Kwarteng's appointment as SoS last week has become clear.

We now have the perfect shitstorm of trying to rush as much de-regulation as possible through while we still have the cover of Covid, whilst being totally and utterly incompetent when it actually comes to negotiating or implementing anything.

And all the while, the pre-Brexit stockpiles diminish and the next raft of rules and regulations are just weeks away.

I have to say that the speed and spread of this complete clusterf*** is a surprise, even to me

Couldn't give two shits so much, that I had to write a post about it (even though I can't spell Brexiteers :lolol:)

Seems the Brains trust have arrived, late and half pissed as usual.

I wonder what the chances are of having another mature discussion about the impact on various industries and people who are trying to run companies, employ people and simply work in our new 'Brexit world' tomorrow :bigwave:

We're waiting for the torrent of good news articles that you and your other chums will obviously be wanting to post.

I find it difficult to take anyone seriously after starting a sentence with 'so'.

If you want your spoutings to hold a little more gravitas, then please try harder.

Is that really the best you can muster? Still no comment on the gradual unravelling of the Brexit promises? Still no postings of all these benefits we're witnessing?

Whether or not you started a sentence with 'so', you and the other rabble can never be taken seriously, as you demonstrate time and again.

I have not been following this exchange but isn't this yet another attempt from a Brexit Supporter to discourage any debate/exchange of information? As far as I know, there is little if any 'good' economic news post Brexit and quite a lot of bad news; you seem to be saying 'don't notice/disseminate the bad news'! Why do you think people should remain silent when bad things happen to businesses up and down the country as a result of Brexit? Genuine question by the way.....

I do understand why you might not like it - but you can always look away.

They are wasting time kicking off on this thread, as I said the few Exit types on here who they are aiming the posts at genuinely don’t care what they have to say, or ever will.

We're fully aware that you're attitudes are '**** business' and '**** those fisherpeople' and '**** the farmers'.

A very unpatriotic stance.
