Was very impressed with Sanders, I'll be interested to see where he goes and how he does.
Of course we are looking for more striker options, it's just that last season we got the top championship striker for £20M and he made, what I think everyone agrees, is a huge step up and did very well in the Premier.
If we get a similar opportunity, I'm sure the money will be there and we will bite someone's hand off. If all we get offered is Locadias, I suspect we would prefer to go with Trossard, Ali J and possibly even Gross or March as attacking options (which would all be better than Murray this year). And I think we would be right to do so
(I am still hopeful we may see Izzy and/or Andone before the new year, so a 6 month loan may well provide sufficient cover).

He does look a real prospect, but he could do with a season at Championship level to see how he fares - apart from the Cup he's only been at League 2 level with AFC Wimbledon. Expect he'll follow the same path as Molumby; spell at a championship side and we'll see about integrating him into the squad next season.

I'm not surprised the club are saying they are happy with what they've got.
The soundbites over the last month have intimated the same.
Ali Mac/Ali J and Trossard are showing they can chip in with goals this season too.
With Izzy and Andone on their way back, we should have enough firepower for this season.
My guess is Tony is sticking to his guns and won't pay over the odds for any player.
Gambling that he will get much better value in January and/or next season.
Plenty of clubs have brought new players in, but only time will tell if they have improved themselves.
We have a squad full of young talent that are improving in front of our eyes.
Personally I think the squad is stronger now than it was last season.
I would also say that there appear to be weaker teams in the division this year.
Tony is pretty good at analysing risk.
No need for us to worry.

Of course they do. Not Fulham who couldn't defend a nun with an alibi. Not West Brom who threw away a three goal lead and still only have one point. not Sheffield United who couldn't score in the preverbial brothel or Burnley, absolutely ripped apart with injuries, a contract signing issue in lockdown, STILL playing 4-4-2 and signing a CM often derided on these pages who was just starting to struggle to make our squad.
No, it's "striker problem" Brighton, 11 goals already this season, goal a game for Maupay, dismantlers of Newcastle and who would have beaten Man U but for five coats of paint, a wrongly overturned penalty and a goal scored after the final whistle

I’m very much looking forward to Monday, I don’t think I’ll be getting a lot of work done.
I’m hoping for Edouard & Sessegnon, my Transfer Window flame is still fully alight, I’m not letting Naylor or anyone else ITK piss on it!

Who's Next?
He played all of last season in Bundesliga.2 with St Pauli. I saw him on TV in some games. He did well, but not brilliant, not in the way the Ben White did at a similar level for Leeds, or even Jayson Molumby for Millwall.
Having seen him play this season, it's not obvious he's made the step up like White and Molumby have.
Of course, he can improve - but into what we need? Not so sure.

Some coach if he can get the forwards to grow a few inches as well......
Sometimes you have to buy rather than invest, but understand the sentiment. The good news for GP is that he’ll get the opportunity to nurture younger players

Yes, experience at a higher level than Alzate had. Still agree with you that a year in The Championship is a good idea at this time - he is behind Molumby in the pecking order at the moment.

If I worked in Albion’s recruitment team I would probably know but then I wouldn’t be able to tell you would I? As it is I don’t have a clue.
Do you really think we aren’t exploring all options or are you suggesting there is no one we can afford so we’ve given up before the window closes?
We do have history of not signing strikers and the manager saying that he’s happy with what he’s got though. So who knows other than the club hierarchy?

It does sound like he has agreed to go with what we’ve got and he sounds quite arsey in that statement. Oh well I love watching his teams play and think it would be a real shame if we send him into the rest of the season with one hand effectively tied behind his back. He deserves better than that, but if the money’s not there then so be it.
