Recently Galatasaray decided to join the battle. Coach Fatih Terim wanted to take over the former AZ player from Brighton & Hove Albion, but the Turkish top club was told that rental is not an option. The English club wants to let the Iranian go this summer only if there is a permanent solution for the attacker.

The Turkish medium writes that Galatasaray has dropped out. Brighton and Ajax would now be negotiating again for Jahanbakhsh, who is reportedly allowed to return for twelve million euros in the Eredivisie. There would have been a one-to-one conversation with director Marc Overmars.

Jahanbakhsh was also linked to PSV. It is questionable whether the message is correct. Ajax coach Erik ten Hag indicated on Saturday that at the moment only a left back is on the list, so Jahanbakhsh only seems to be an option if a player leaves and that seems not to play in the forefront.

Absolutely ****ed his knee last season and has yet to play again BUT that puts this Zaha level talent on our radar as a Top Six would surely avoid signing someone so soon after a major knee injury and together with COVID-19, Ajax won’t want the kind of £36m+ fee they’d been after previously.

There’s every reason to like him, but there’s absolutely no reason to expect him to be part of Potter’s plans for next season, the squad has been chopped and changed all season and he’s not really had much of a look in.
Not really sure on the need or relevance in your second point? I don’t think fans expect every player to be Bobby Charlton, but there’s a chance that they might expect to see more from such an expensive player, it hasn’t worked out, that’s all, not necessarily Hughton’s fault, not necessarily Potter’s fault, not necessarily Ali’s fault, sometimes a player just doesn’t fit. I can also recommend never using the wet mattress/pantyliners/bed wetting line again because it’s pathetic and removes any credence from a post.

Changing the squad is part of football, Ali J will understand that as well as anyone. Look at how Ferguson refreshed his squads over the years.

He's barely had a look in under Potter so it's no slight on Ali J to think he should move on. It'll free up resources for someone who Potter does want.

This. Hasn’t been given a real chance under Potter. Probably more to it as he looked good when he played this season.

Same here. It strikes me that he is pretty popular with the rest of the squad and he seems to be a real 'confidence' player who needs games. It must be hard putting in a shift during training all week then not getting picked for matches. I guess we've all been that kid at one time or another, stood on the line in PE and being the last 'pick' for school football. Always felt shit when that happened. Must be hard when that happens every week and you're a pro.

His goal vs Bournemouth was a great strike and the one vs. Chelsea was just stunning technique and execution. Even just to think about doing that in a PL game was outrageous. He must have been brimming with self-belief to even think, "I know, I'll just bicycle kick this in from the edge of the box."

I hope he gets a good run out this season. I reckon he could be good for 10+ goals a season given the chance and he get's his dander up.

I'm not sure. I'm as baffled as you. Someone on here once posted that they saw him in ASDA down by the marina. Maybe he doesn't finish till 4pm most Saturdays?

It can’t be pace, surely? We have the most pedestrian squad imaginable. I think Jahanbakhsh’s time here will be forever considered a bit of a mystery.

Really don't understand the lack of opportunities for him especially in some of the more dour games post Xmas.Showed that he is prepared to shoot and that he can get the ball on target unlike some others.

When he came to us I recall his heatmaps were all about being glued to a wing and then cutting in high up the pitch. That sort of approach doesn't fit with GP's "players on rails" who are fit enough to shuttle up and down the pitch all game. I also wonder who he is competing with for a place. Perhaps that's what's keeping him out?

Especially odd he didn’t get a chance when out of form slow pokes Mooy, Gross and Solly all had decent number of starts/run outs.

Shame as AJ clearly has an eye for a goal, when he scored those couple of beauty’s you just thought “wow, now he’s arrived”. Then never got a look in again.

But I do trust GP. So I feel there’s likely more to this. Maybe he has fitness issues, doesn’t respond tactically as GP would like. That’s all it can be, I’d be staggered if it’s a character or attitude issue.

I don’t necessarily want rid of Jahanbakhsh, certainly not if he was going to go on and be an important player for us, but if we’re being realistic he’s been for 2 years and has managed 29 appearances under 2 different managers, something isn’t right. I think it works be fair to assume that if he was still with us next season he’d again see limited game time. Considering the fee that was spent on Jahanbakhsh it could make sense to sell him whilst his stock still has value and raise funds for Potter to buy a player that he wants and will use. As I’ve said before, none of this appears to be Jahanbakhsh’s fault, certainly not from the outside looking in, but sometimes in football these things happen, much like every Albion fan I was hoping he would be a star for us but sadly that does not likely to be the case.
Regarding the whole panty liner nonsense, I just find the phrase pathetic, if you’ve got a different opinion to someone so be it, but that expression is on the same level as when a 5yr old says “I know you are, but what am I?”. If you think it’s irksome reading negative content from people then I can assure it’s just as boring seeing supposedly intelligent people trot that garbage out over and over again.
