1) There hasn't been a 4-5 year (or one term) of one particular colour since Thatcher took power. 2010 was Tory lite but still Tory led. Once a "colour" assumes power they tend to keep it (though Starmer may have to do a deal with the SNP)

2 - 4 I don't disagree. But take a very broken country and add Brexit to it to break it some more and the public will have had enough. The CV19 enquiries may cause the government to lose popularity but Brexit could well be the catalyst for real revolution as the red wall comes back when they realise they've been lied to. Basically I see both things together doing for Johnson and Cummings.

5) Yes, that's what the Tories do. See also the global recession caused by bankers was really a local one caused by Labour. But Starmer isn't Corbyn and I'd hope that people might prove to have attention spans greater than those of a gnat. We'll see.

There are still plenty pedalling this bollocks, but, when you see the relentless pressure and power of the right wing press it's understandable that the " Angry Mob " always seems to be directed at Labour.. My late mother always voted Tory ever since she asked my dad who she should vote for in the early 60's and he said Tory.... she never took note of political debate or policies and steadfastly voted for the Blue Donkey put up by our constituency time after time.
About the time of the election that Gordon Brown lost she actually asked a bit about both main parties and what they had done for pensioners like her, I pointed out that it was Labour who had instigated free bus passes for pensioners, a free TV licence for over 75's and a £300 winter fuel allowance , she said " I never knew that was Labour that did that ? " … she still voted Tory though.

Having a border check within our own country that means a UK company shipping from the mainland has a customs check to send to a UK company in Northern Ireland is the most ridiculous prospect I can imagine from leaving the EU. If that is Cummings ‘taking back control’ then whether you voted leave or remain that to me is completely unacceptable. Another lie by the way as it was promised there would be no checks.

I note many leave voters on here have stayed remarkably quiet on this issue, why? Because it is an outright betrayal of taking back control of our borders. Another feather in the can’t trust Boris/Cummings cap.

I have never disdained the NHS. It is one of our finest institutions, a monument to the best government we ever had (Attlee's). I've spent almost the whole of my working life in public service, including some years working foir the NHS. My admiration for the NHS and my commitment to public service are not incompatible with wanting to leave the EU. It is possible to have an NHS without the EU, you know - we had it for years before we joined them!

But you had your choice to invest properly in the NHS or back Johnson on Brexit and as you have already said, you made it a simple choice. We are 20,000 EU NHS workers less since the referendum because of the choice you made 4 years ago. I really don't have an issue with people making their democratic choices, we all have the right to do that, but I do get annoyed when people won't take responsibility for the result of what they did

Do you think this is normal behaviour, to hunt in a pack over a person who has caused NO harm, to anyone and he is actually doing his best to make a difference, he hasn't broke the social distancing rule.

Thank you. While (of course) I accept other views I do worry that many people voted for Brexit not because their views were different to mine but because they didn't really have any views at all, certainly not considered ones - their reasons for voting as they did were almost entirely visceral. This doesn't apply to everyone and I hope it doesn't apply to you, but I do worry that a committed Brexiteer, happy see a government he dislikes take his country in a direction he doesn't want as long as it got Britain out of the EU, hadn't heard of Dominic Cummings, the man who ran the entire Leave campaign. Sorry.

Staying in the EU (aka the European United Super State) is permanent if we don't get out while we can (unless it all breaks up of course, but that's not something on which I'd care to gamble our country's future on). A Tory government is temporary.
Once safely and irrevocably out, I look forward to voting in a Labour Government.

Like most other people, I have (and had) no particular interest in the shadowy semi-anonymous people lurking behind the political parties. I've absolutely no idea who Labour's behind-the-scenes gurus are, any more than I spent time tracking down information on Cummings.

It is also a complete betrayal of ulster unionists. I can only assume they have spent so much time marching and praying their brains have rotted if they didn't realise this was coming. Apologies to any devout unionist remainers on here.

As I posted above they have only just started their investigation over the last few days.

What the newspapers got wrong (originally) was that they said that the Police had already spoke to his father about Cummings naughty trip.

This was based in a statement the Police gave to the newspapers.

In reality, it was the father who contacted the Police regarding security advice.

This has clearly embarrassed Durham Police who have are now undertakening a full investigation.

They took a statement from the retired chemistry teacher in the last few days.

Now Cummings had admitted a potential further offence I'm sure he well get a ticking off at least.

I do sometimes listen to daily updates to hear any news updates to way forward. Stopped for while because usual people just wanted to criticise . No Boris fan but thought he did well tonight by dismissing questions about Cummings. Also refused to let them ask experts about Cummings as said unfair for them answer political questions. At least it was dominated by updated news and next stage.

He was his normally bumbling, incompetent self. He thinks he’s cut from the same cloth as Churchill. In his case Its Churchill the puppet dog from those **** insurance adds. In fact he’s a distant second to the dog.
