If both Leagues don't finish then the obvious idea is start with 22 or 23 teams next season. Then have 4 teams relegated for the next 2 or 3 seasons.
Respectfully, I think your missing the point. If the prem plays out the season, and Championship doesn't, the relegated team will be at a massive dis-advantage come next season. Having played football all summer, when their opponents haven't.If the PL season is completed, I don't see how any club can refuse relegation because they don't like the way the Championship teams have been promoted. How the Championship sorts out who gets promoted is their problem. This really is Norwich clutching at straws.

Why is it ‘obvious’? What is the logic behind promoting Leeds, on the basis of ‘probably heading for promotion’, but NOT relegating Norwich, by the same metric? Makes literally zero sense.

Im talking IF both leagues dont finish playing. You cant have one finishing and one not. It'd be a major dis-advantage to any team relegated for next season.
True but the ex PL teams aleays have a massive advantage due to parachutte payments.
I know. You didn’t answer my question. What is your logic, behind promoting Leeds and West Brom, because they look likely to go up, while not relegating Norwich who are odds on to go down?
That's a great idea BUT you are still going to have a problem with the teams that aren't in the top six now. You could make an argument given how tight it is that you could go down as far as Birmingham in 16th as having a chance of making a late run for the play offs.
There is always one team that comes from no where to nick a play off place every season and I'm sure all of those team will argue that.
I never mentioned Leeds & WBA. Just promote 2 or 3. How they choose them i dont know though!
Just an idea anyway!
Just another thing to throw into the mix. Haven't heard any news about the Championship plans for finishing the season. Seems there is some that want a restart and some want points per game to decide.
If the EPL unilaterally steam on and finish the season but the EFL don't, what happens then about relegation? If the EFL finish on points per game, do they have any moral right to promotion to the EPL? Already rumours circulating that league One and Two will not restart.
in the PL what about a relegation play-off for teams in 14th-19th with Norwich auto relegated as they were never going to get enough points to be safe.

Better still just relegate Norwich and have a behind closed doors playoff between Leeds and West Brom to see who replaces them !in the PL what about a relegation play-off for teams in 14th-19th with Norwich auto relegated as they were never going to get enough points to be safe.
Yeah, there's no easy way round it but you've got to draw the line somewhere and this way would at least replicate some of the possible movement between teams.
Unless they finish the season there are going to be pissed off teams.
But who gets promoted? There are still 9 games to go, and mathematically down to 14th can catch leeds, so there will be issues with that as well. It isnt like the prem where only one team can mathematically catch Liverpool.0
