Things have been very easy for Sheffield Utd.

Get promotion then have a decent season. Simple.

On the other hand the Albion get promoted and have a 3 year relegation battle :nono:

Now Sheffield are successfully targeting a player who our recruitment team have already flagged up.

Oh well, good luck to them I suppose, they must be doing something right.

The difference is Chris Wilder

Paying the going rate helps.

As does having a wealthy Saudi owner who probably doesn’t understand or care for FFP.

I have no issue with being outspent in favour of us chasing a sustainable future, yes even one that caters for periodic relegation, over a ruinous one.

I just wish the club were a bit more transparent, they can spin it however they like but fans/customers want to see progress and stay informed.

In what way do you want them to he transparent? They're hardly going to announce their list of targets.

Brighton factually.....
Gone to sheff United. Norwood place at risk ?

Oh god, no thank you, why do some fans want to re sign players who have already been offloaded and deemed not good enough.

To add he is being upgraded on, all the while wondering why our club is not upgrading....

Am I missing something or am I just stupid.

****s sake. Can't believe how far Sheff U have jumped ahead of us in the space of half a season in this division. Berge is a ridiculously good signing for them.

Its what happens when a player has a choice of guaranteed PL football next season or possible Championship football.

Very jealous of this signing, not gonna lie. Sheffield United have recruited well and under Wilder will only go from strength to strength in the future

So we have a situation atm where the club, players, fans and manager are saying the atmosphere is poor at home games.

How much better do they think it will get between now and the end of the season with being linked to no one and making zero comment [yet] about our transfer window? It’s only going to get worse.

We’ve had spurious comment from Potter about it’s his job to focus on improving the players he has in the squad and the square root of FA from anywhere else.

If they were to summarise their belief in the squad or even say we were prepared to strengthen the squad in areas GP deemed necessary but we aren’t prepared to gamble the future of the club on ludicrous fees or wage demands it might, just might galvanise some kind of positive response from fans about all being in it together...

Silence when there is some not entirely unjustified disgruntlement from the fans is only going to enhance the fear and pervasive hesitant atmosphere.

I’m not asking for a list of targets for each position and the associated bids lodged simply something a little bit more than radio silence altogether which I think is counterproductive.

I think fans need to be less needy. Those working at the club from the top down want the club to succeed and are obviously looking to strengthen the squad. However, making comments about our transfer dealings before the window closes would be counterproductive. Why would we show our hand at this stage? (Excuse the poker analogy. I hate it when people do that :) )
