The right wing has got very good at spreading disinformation (lies) so much so that the working class felt that the Conservatives would better serve their interests! Eventually reality will catch up with them, you can’t spin people forever.

I’ve had both under a Tory government. NHS did a sterling job in getting me better, and I got a new job very quickly - which I’m still in. Now I own my own gaff. I’ve had luck along the way - but if you work hard enough the opportunities are there for anyone who wants it in this country.

Hard work equals wealth is a myth in this country.

Exploiting labour is the real earner!

Maybe somebody can define working class?

Is it upbringing (you have no control) current wealth, assets? Whether you’re not into any recent “isms”

Boris Johnson has repeatedly stated the NHS would be better if people paid for it through private insurance.

It will be a painful learning experience for the working class as they find out how much the EU protected them from the worst of the Tory party.

That’s one of the key points I think. All this “we can make our own laws” nonsense. Without the protection of the EU those in charge in this country can now pass any laws they like regarding workers rights, benefit claimants, terminally ill etc. with zero regulation. Who can stop them now?

George Orwell described it as being your values, beliefs and traditions. I tend to go with this.

Exactly. What have they done with their majority so far?

Well, they’ve pushed through a Brexit bill that’s not fit for purpose, given MP’s an extra month’s holiday a year and they’ve passed a law prohibiting any thing they do from being ruled unlawful.

And people really believe the Tory party are acting in their best interests?

are you making the case that the EU controls our law?

Quite. The Tories have never given a shit about certain parts of the country and sections of society and if they think Boris, JRM and co are all of a sudden going to start taking an interest now then they really do need their heads testing. If they join the hospital queue now, they might just get this test in time for the next election.

And some rather nasty, grim and spiteful refugee legislation.

So the desperate A & E figures , worst ever waiting times are wrong then ???

Have you used the NHS recently? It is brilliant, but suffering from increased customer numbers, expectations and demands.

tradition definition is around manual work, for wages (vs salary), in factories or other industrial work. some will make a point about those that do not own the means of production. its full of contradiction and counter-examples these days, we cant really define it, replaced with more granular socio-economic classes. many chose to define themselves as working class when they have all the trappings of middle class life style.

Sorry. I disagree. It’s okay for tangible things like broken bones and operations etc. But it’s totally and utterly woeful for things like mental health. And I will say this for the umpteenth time, it’s biggest single issue is a lack of funding.

Bloody Worthing!
One of the most remarkable features of British political history is just how successfully a political party whose key function is to preserve privilege has been able to consistently attract the votes of those who have little chance of enjoying such privilege. Hence they are arguably the most successful political party on the planet. And it grieves me to write it.

Of course it is, but the funding will never be enough because expectations and demands will increase, with mental health being a classic example.

This country stands out because of its free NHS but every penny put in the NHS is a penny less for education, transport, defence, etc.

Some want that for nothing though. They hate the fact that some actually work to better themselves.
