Twas ever thus. Some moron makes a stupid decision and a few other morons agree. This grows into a 'PC Gone Mad', 'Snowflake' 'Insert meaningless catchphrase of your choice here' rant. Rinse and repeat.

Wonder if Monty Python are ruing not doing a sketch where gammon moans about snowflakes. Very Gilliamesque.

And here's a Snowflake getting the hump about the OP which is perfecty acceptable to most reasonable people , go and give H a cuddle if its going to make you feel better about yourself

Bless - you have learnt how to spell words of two syllables. :clap2: Still stumbling over the three syllable words but you were only one letter out. Hang in there, tiger.

I have fond recollection of a game called hunks. The object was to get hold of the ball. Once you had hold of the ball every other player beat the shit out of you until someone else had hold of it. Clearly being a masochist I was rather good at it.

Bath, Somerset.
The school or Head-Teacher can't win though, can they:

a) Ban rough games to protect kids from injury, and get attacked for PC snow-flakery and producing a generation of wimpy kids who won't be able to cope with the real world.

b) Don't ban rough games, and then get sued or beaten-up by an angry parent when their precious kid gets injured in the playground.

I suspect it is a case of the Head-Teacher or the School having to protect themselves from aggressive or litigious parents.

They haven't banned tag from what The school says.

I never trust any of these stories.

The only outrage I have is at those who are outraged. Folk believe any old shit these days.

Because it's fake news? Guess what? The thread title is the clue. Same term as that used by Trumpy types and Boris fans against people who can't 'man up' over a bit of harmless racism etc. Broflakes. ???

It's flake news.

They can win – they can look after the interests of the pupils at the school and not give two shits what anyone else thinks.

It looks like that's exactly what they've done and good luck to them. All the people who aren't directly affected – but ever so offended – by this news can, quite frankly, do one!

I seem to remember a game from Thomas a Beckett school in Worthing called Cats and mice.

The game consisted of 2 "gangs" sitting in 2 separate "camps" at opposite corners of the school field.
At some point during the lunch break both gangs would charge at each other ( predominantly avoiding any contact with each other) and "take" the oppositions base.

The game would be tolerated for a couple of weeks until most of the school were aligned to one or other of the gangs, and then Mr Matthews would announce that the game was banned.

I don't remember anyone ever getting hurt.
nonetheless the game was banned at least once a year, every year I was there.

Snowflakes have been around for 40+ years it would seem.

:clap:Good old Mr Matthews. Used to let me and my brother sit in his car at lunchtime when the fa cup draws were made, as long as we wrote it down to tell other people, (pompey fan I think?)

Has this reached The Argus.

The comments section may need a couple of ambulances.
