Nothing to do with being ITK for me....it’s the constant ‘waaah waaah why haven’t we signed anyone’ type-rubbish that does my head in when the window is still open. It’s like being half way through your supermarket visit and panicking because you haven’t picked up any cereal yet even though it’s on your list and in the last aisle, and the shop doesn’t close for ages.

And then you realise that you are in Aldi and the choice of cereals are awful and you have to make a quick dash to Tesco to pick up some quality like Kellogg's Cornflakes and not sub standard Morning bloody flakes that the kids won't eat and taste like cardboard, let's hope Tesco is still open and we don't have to make do.

But it’s not about a big lump, it’s about the same type of aerial power / ability to hold up play but with more mobility.

There is nothing worse than clearing the ball and it coming straight back, because there is no physical strength to hold it up.

You've just caused me to have flash backs of Leon Knight and Jake Robinson upfront together.

Well that's ruined the rest of my day.

So you’re going to guess we have El what’s his face?

This is the thing. I get told shit loads of stuff - 90% ends up being bollocks. Once I got told Kuschack (sp) had been shown round the Amex - by somebody that should know. I didn’t put it on NSC until a thread appeared that mentioned him - turned out what I’d been told was good new info. My point is, rather than write in cryptic bullshit just say what you think or ‘have been told’. Personally, I don’t believe you have any ‘sources’ and if you do they’re really shit! Nobody gets told much these days - the Albion have said it themselves!

But lets not get carried away, We had the best player in the Championship the season we went up, unfortunately that doesn't always translate in the Premier League.

A valid point. I'm really hopeful we get Maupay and he can succeed, but am reminded of CMS.

The best forward in league 1, always looked great in a posh shirt, seemed worth his price tag at the time, steps up to championship and despite fleeting moments generally looked out of his depth.

The jump between 25 goals for Brentford to being effective in the PL is bigger.

A few have done it and he looked fantastic last season, so really hopeful, if we get him..... but equally it's a big jump in class.

Based on the youtube clips. If I had to chooses between Neal Maupay and the Moroccan bloke. I'd defiantly pick Neal Maupay. He looks like a better version of Florin. What impressed me most was his passing. He can drop deep, thread well weighted through balls and looks good at spraying the ball around which could give our wingers far more supply.

Looking forward to this one.Maybe the plan is for Florin and Maupay to compete for the same position and Murray and the Moroccan bloke to fight for the other position?

It doesn't take an ITK to figure out that we need someone to compete with Murray too so it's not surprising that another striker may be on his way even if this Maupay deal goes through.

Either way, exciting times.

Neal Maupay could be 50/50 a horrible or very succesfull signing. He was very good vs Swansea last season even though we crushed them three times. But as an outsider very eager to see every Brighton game this season, I'm curious about this Murray fella. We have two pretty old players - Wayne Routledge and Nathan Dyer - that havent performed anything for many years.

Potter was not allowed to use them other than in crisis early last season, until they said to our owners that they reject their bonuses. Sure, we played in a lower division than the year before, but both looked incredible coming back, with especially Routledge really thriving in the potterball; clever little runs, madda****ing Zidane-like in the combination game and a few goals on top of that.

I dont know how Murray likes to play but one thing I know for sure is that Potter's starting forwards always had more brain than pace. Alhaji Gero in Östersund was slow as **** and couldnt score a goal if his life was dependent on it, but he was clever. McBurnie scored lots of goals in Swansea but is no sprinter, he is just clever and deadly (**** I miss him by the way.. almost on Potter level). Maupay may arrive but dont count Murray out.

Great post and a really valuable contribution.
You've literally described Murray to a tee here. He's not blessed with any degree of pace, but he is an intelligent player with a good football brain. Delighted to hear that Potter knows how to make effective use of that type of player. The assumption here was that Murray would play a role this season, but it would be incredibly risky relying on a 36 year old as out primary attacking outlet for the entire season. However, Murray has proven himself to be both consistent and efficient, so we know we can rely on him when called upon.

That was a genuine lol analogy. Superb.

Works in so many ways given the fact that a number of the waah waah waahs will be sat in the infant seat in the trolley crying about the lack of coco pops whilst mum is still perusing the fruit and veg...
