I like Alex Scott and think she brings some good opinions to the table. My issue (which I have mentioned on here before) is that when she is talking none of the other pundits argue against her, cut in or disagree. I know why they are not doing it as it would be career suicide and they will be condemned for mansplaining but this is to me IS an issue. It means that she is not being treated like all the other pundits who will argue and disagree with each other such as Keane and Neville after the Manchester derby, this is surely not equality? If pundits disagree with her or she is talking bollocks (like lots of the men do) then pull her up on it.

I have the same issue with Sian Massey who is one of the better assistant refs but she seems to be protected from criticism and people get called misogynists if they question a decision. If we want true equality then she should be open to as much criticism and praise as any other official.

As I've mentioned before, if I were a FIFA supremo, the change in the law that I'd bring in is that all professional clubs would have to include two women in their teams. It would completely change the dynamic of the game - we'd have far less hoofball and would be a great challenge to managers: how would they incorporate the females?

It would transform women's football overnight

That is possibly the most bonkers idea I have ever seen floated on here. It would transform MENS football overnight, and certainly not for the better. It would have zero impact on "hoofball" - teams would still employ those tactics as and when required. Introducing the weaker sex onto a football field with 20 other men would quite literally end in tears. Physically they cannot compete. No other contact sport in the WORLD mixes the sexes at a professional level, and for good reason. They could get hurt - badly. Unless you're suggesting men aren't allowed to tackle them ?? And since when does the mens game need to 'transform' the womens ? Its already bankrolling it.

If that is a serious suggestion, then I'm afraid you're nuttier than squirrel poop.

That’s genuinely one of the most ludicrous football-related ideas I’ve ever encountered. Surely you can’t be serious?!

Alex Scott and any other woman have no place whatsoever as pundits on the men's game. They've not played the game to a high standard therefore their 'opinions' have no validity. It's an insult to Carragher and Souness to have her on the sofa, they must find it difficult to take her seriously. Why are lower league players never invited into the studio as pundits? Because they would have no credibility as not played the game at the highest level. Yet Alex Scott is who has played the game to about County league standard is invited? Why? Because she's a female. All to appease the PC brigade. Let her and that other ugly bird they have on midweek Soccer Special opine on the birds game and leave the blokes game to blokes. Awaits for the usual wet 'look at me I'm so liberal I watch women's football' posters to tell me 'I belong in the 1950's'.

Police have today called off their search for Alf Garnett, last seen in 1968, after he was recently discovered posting on a football message board.

I posted elsewhere on the thread there is a difference between journalists (presenters) and pundits. If Lineker can sit in the presenter's chair, then anyone can sit in the pundit chair. Many male pundits (ex 'top' players) don't even know the rules of the game. Therefore they have no more 'authority' and 'insight' than a bloke in a pub (and Shearer sounds exactly like a bloke in a pub. An old grumpy know-all bloke in a pull-over, drinking mild and bitter, in the snug, with his sour and bored wife). I'd be happy to see the likes of Henning Wehn and David Baddiel on there as pundits. And any female ex-player who is eloquent and interesting. I know that won't go down well with men who don't feel comfortable unless they can smell the big hairy balls of other men, but so be it.

All good fun winding up the 'oh so trendy look at me I embrace diversity' types on here. The types who would watch women throwing dog sh*t at each other if it helped them showcase their politically correct credentials.

Are you alright? Do we need to get someone?
