Oo, what have you done, tell us more?

Raspberry Pi, Solid state relays, home brewed software (written in Python). So far it's :
a. been in development for 2 years and not installed yet
b. cost far more than one you can buy in Maplins

On the upside though, errmmm.....

Not yet but am considering ditching my shorts and putting long trousers on if the forecast Indian summer for October doesnt materialize. I then progress from them to a onesie when sitting at home in the winter to save the cost of heating, which is permanently set at 17c

Ours went on for 5 minutes at the weekend to test the system and radiator. System working fine. One radiator needs bleeding.

Other than that though, no. It's still toasty without.

When this glorious moment comes, can you share a photo of you onesie-d up please?
A lovely thought, but I fear he won't know how to.

But think of the satisfaction you'll have when the heating inexplicably comes on in late July, heating the house to 40 degrees.

You can sit back and think "this is all my own work"...

Not yet on, but boiler serviced and ready to go when needed.
Still in shorts.
If it gets chilly, may fire up the logburner or may just have another dram.

" do you think it was cold last night" is the usual start of the annual conversation
"frack of a lot colder in a care home you old duffer" will be my response

tend to take things from there

Nope, at least not to my knowledge.

Can't imagine it'll be long until it kicks in at night though...

Timer set to off in the middle of the night. It kicks in if it's <17 from 6am to 9pm

So far it gone on for the last two mornings for an hour or so and then stayed off for the rest of the day.

Hasn't dropped below 19oC in our flat yet, at least whilst we are awake, so no.

Hive is very good, for not very much cost but I admire your persistence. My Pi just sits there receiving ADS-B signals and supplying the data to various flight tracking sights, all written by someone else of course but I was pleased just to get the hardware and software up and running....
