Not sure we can get the definitive answer on this one but I am struggling to think of anyone who LOOKED faster than Mark Gall. Maybe Will Buckley in his first year here?

Wasn't Peter Sayer the Welsh 100 metre champion before he took up football full time?

Who are the other contenders?

Always thought Granny Goodchild was quick down the wing. Sure he wasn't but I was only about 10 at the time.

Although we only had him on loan for a few games was Wayne Gray meant to be pretty rapid.

In about 2004 I remember watching the players warm down, and Gary Hart was the quickest running from one end of the pitch to the other. But that was when the team lacked pace all over!

Acceleration (10 yards) or sprint speed (35 yards)

Acceleration: Will Buckley (honourable mentions, Lualua, Gotsmanov) (contenders Peter Ward)
Sprint speed: Will Buckley (honourable mentions, D Armstrong) (contenders Wayne Bridge)

It is very difficult to judge and even in the Premier League today it is hard to say who.is the quickest. Barrow (Swansea), Bellerin, Walcott (Arsenal) seem very quick to me.

From a standing start: Lualua

On the half turn: Peter Ward

Current: Elvis Manu (probably) ???

I really don't think LuaLua has much pace over anything but a few strides. It's why his game seems to have become so dependent upon stopping, bringing his marker to a standstill, before a very quick burst to get the space to deliver a shot, cross, shotcross or blaze over to row Z.
